To summarise my experience: Very average. Don't be fooled by the high rating, nearly every foreign restaurant in Hanoi has a very high rating, but often it doesn't reflect the quality. This restaurant is based under a hotel, and is easy to find. It was quiet inside but the service was very average. Staff were slow to respond, cutlery was missing, we when we ordered water and were simply given a bottle with no glass/cup. The food itself was quite average. The flavour was OK, butter chicken wasn't that great, and the vindaloo was no spicier than the butter chicken. The portion is very small too. The mango lassi was sour. I've certainly had better Indian food elsewhere. Overall the price is OK, not cheap by Vietnam standards (although many tourists may feel it's cheap compared to back home). The worst thing after this average experience is this restaurant takes cash only. Even the Tra Da lady on the side of the road would allow you to bank transfer, so it's very strange they operate this way. I'm glad I crossed this place off my list: I left feeling full and satisfied. But for the price, the service, and the quality, I wouldn't...
Read moreSpecial post to mention this experience I had in Hanoi. A group of 4 sardar ji decided to have Vietnam's very first langar service. I was walking by the streets and came across this board, they were inviting every passerby wholeheartedly to have a free meal (langar). People from all the different countries visited and donated. This place named Eat List is a little outlet serving Indian food with a Vietnamese style seating arrangements on the street. They are short of space but have a huge heart for their customers and serve amazing food. If you ever visit Hanoi, I recommend you atleast visit Eat List once. I skipped my lunch today in rush and was craving for some Indian food for dinner as I am done with so much of rice, noodles and soup over last few days and finally what a place to have something good Indian Vegetarian meal. This totally made my day! Eat List ...
Read moreWe found this place while searching for Indian vegetarian food options on Google. The Google reviews were fab so we decided to try this place. We went in for a late lunch so the restaurant was empty. It's a good cozy joint. We had a chana masala, paneer kadhai, onion paratha and chapati. We found all to be tasty and well prepared. It was more like home-made food, low on oil and spice. They don't have a tandoor so that complete north Indian food feel was missing. Food pricing is slightly on the higher side as compared to the portion size, the ambience and the quality. We shelled out 370000 vnd for the 2 veggies, 3 chapattis, one onion paratha and 1 small bowl of curd. We ate at an Indian restaurant in Da Nang which was fabulous and was reasonably priced as compared to this one. Owner is...
