Su Chảnh Coffee — Restaurant in Hạ Long City

This simple place cooks the best Bun bo nam bo we have tried around North Vietnam. Perfect balance of flavors and serving is generous. I am craving now that I am writing about it. We have dined in a more upscale restaurant back in Hanoi after Halong Bay as I wanted more bun bo nam bo but to my dismay, it just wouldn't compare to their version.

We also liked the fried rice and avocado and mango milk shake. The spring roll is kind of different though than the rest we tried in our entire trip.

The lady owner, Su, is very cordial. She had started a small conversation with us and she had made some recommendations on the best beaches and places to go to on our next visit to Vietnam. for this ghost town, the atmosphere was rather empty. Hence, its nice to have a little break after hanoi.

I ordered bun cha because we asked a couple before us if the food was food and they said yes if you love authentic food.

So i give bun cha another try after it failed me in da nang. I took the first bite and immediately fell in love. Its so full of flavor and they were generous with their portion. This is the best bun cha ive ever had so far in vietnam.

We also ordered fried rice but id highly suggest to order local vietnamese food to refresh you after long day at ha long.

If we come here again, we’d definitely eat the bun cha again.

This café was different than expected but surprisingly good. Some pictures online show espresso and sandwiches, however the coffee is Vietnamese coffee. And I didn’t see sandwiches on the menu. I asked for no sugar and actually got no sugar 👌The coffee is very strong, so it was served with hot water on the side.

We also had banh mi, one with egg and one with tofu, which were both very hot (not spicy), and tasty. Also had a fruit salad (including jack fruit) with yogurt.
