The Au Co Cruise - Halong Bay — Restaurant in Hạ Long City

What a once in a lifetime experience, you get treated like a king. The pickup from hanoi was a good start in a ford transit basically built as a limousine, plenty of leg room and very comfortable for the four hour drive to halong bay. You then get to the boat, all the staff are so friendly and will always go out of their way to help you. Food was all fantastic, 6 course meals every day, buffet breakfast and a bbq seafood buffet to top off the last night. Plenty of activities to do like kayaking, cooking class with the excellent head chef on board, tour of Cat ba island, swimming on a secluded beach or just relaxing on the boat with a cocktail enjoying the fantastic scenery. My only disappointment was the bed, my girlfriend and I was in a deluxe cabin which is the basic cabin which was really nice even so, but the bed was basically two single mattresses put together, now when your paying this sought of money to go on here you dont expect there to be two single mattresses keep on splitting apart making for quite an unpleasant experience, unfortunately i found out that the executive cabins were also the same, if there was a half decent bed i would have rated five star for sure, but then again when your paying 800 Australian dollars each you kind of...

Awesome trip with an outstanding crew! The au co cruise is a very nice ship which fulfills all needs. The facilities are great and spacious which include a nice sun deck, spa area with jacuzzi and a big restaurant (among others). We were quite lucky with the weather and could enjoy the sun on board most of the times. During the 3D/2N we had plenty of activities to discover the bay and some islands. Highlight on those activities was going to a small private beach part in the bay where we could swim and go around with a kayak. The best part of the trip was the crew. The crew was really friendly and welcoming. Always with a smile they were attentive at all times to fulfill all needs and beyond. Difficult to point out someone as everyone was really great, but Tien made the trip special with further information about the country and culture. Also Joy ( the crew manager) was in top of things and informed the crew of people’s food preferences and special needs. Last but not least, the food was excellent, just delicious. Au Cô cruise was definitely one of the nicer cruise ships in the bay! We were so happy we went with this cruise - all of the staff was so friendly and attentive and the ship was very well maintained. The views were absolutely stunning and majestic. Not a lot of wifi but you shouldn’t need it anyway !!

The schedule of activities was a perfect balance of staying busy while also having time to relax. We went bike riding, had a cooking class, enjoyed happy hour at sunset, morning kayaking and stopped at a beach. My husband did the night squid fishing and caught a squid.

We had a deluxe room near the front and the room was more spacious - highly recommend especially if you have a lot of luggage. Everything was nice and clean.

There was a welcome lunch buffet, seated dinner and breakfast buffet. Plenty of food available. They accommodated for vegetarians like myself and other dietary needs. There was made to order options like eggs, noodle soups etc.

Loved it and can’t wait to take our friends and family on this cruise next time...
