Nhà hàng Quá Ngon — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Located in a local neighborhood of Saigon, its price is weirdly expensive. You can get way better food with way better location, atmosphere, and service at fancier restaurants at the same price, for example, Hoang Yen Restaurant or Ngoc Suong. It's not the absolute worst restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend anyone here because of service and food price/quality - opt for the ones mentioned above or its neighbor, Huong Cau (not the best either but not the worst).

This restaurant is a typical Vietnamese restaurant that sells basic Vietnamese foods, I don't know how to describe it but it doesn't specialize in anything except for "món ăn nhậu kiểu Việt Nam." Our server was probably a manager there who was quite pushy - she recommended expensive dishes to us on purpose, for example, recommending us a hotpot that doubles the price of all the other ones.

Continuing with that, dish prices are ridiculously considering its location and most guests that this place were targeted for. We spent around 2,000k vnd ($80) for 6 people, and it might not sound like a lot - but considering the restaurant’s location, quality, and targeted customers - very expensive. One dish I would not recommend is the bò lúc lắc. They claimed to use Australian beef - named “Hokubee” - apparently, but it was very fatty and not in good quality. This dish was almost 400k ( $15), and I was concerned of how expensive it was because you can get a bò lúc lắc dish at a way fancier restaurant for half the price - i’m talking about Hoàng Yến Restaurant. The manager tried to justify for it but honestly, it’s too expensive. Also some dishes took very very long to come up that we had to cancel it. It was a grilled chicken one, i think, and after waiting for 20 minutes, we asked them and they said that they were grilling it and will come up soon. 15 minutes later, nothing. So they lied, and we canceled it.

Overall, the food isn’t terrible, except for the bò lúc lắc, but very expensive with unprofessional service. I’ve dined here multiple times in the past and honestly would not come...

The crispy pork was a spot on. They delivered it fresh and hot. The pork was kept warm in the clay oven at the back of their motorbike, while driving. It is crispy, less fatty than the normal pork, the fat layer was removed before being served. Must try. I can’t comment on the other dishes as their quality might have been affected during delivery (only the pork was kept in the hot clay pot). Staff is friendly, on time and professional. Heo tộc nướng lu ngon nhưng nhiều mỡ. Nhiều món hải sản mình order thì nhà hàng báo hết. Lẩu King nổi tiếng của quán giá quá cao chỉ được vài miếng thịt đông lạnh dù nước lẩu mẻ ăn khá ngon nhưng quá đắt tiền cho 1 nồi lẩu chỉ toàn đậu phụ. Phần lẩu 900k hơn nói là cho 5 người mà hai vợ chồng mình ăn còn không no, phải nhường cho ba mẹ. Sẽ ko quay lại vì Sài Gòn có nhiều nhà hàng khác xuất sắc hơn với mức giá vừa phải hơn.

Edit: mình vừa chỉnh sửa review thành 1 sao vì cách nhà hàng trả lời mình. Viết có vẻ dài nhưng cốt chỉ đôi co với khách chứ không thật sự quan tâm đến khách hàng. Nhà hàng của bạn đề giá cao nên dĩ nhiên sản phẩm phải là đồ tươi ngon và tuyển chọn kỹ lưỡng. Chuyện này là điều dĩ nhiên chứ không phải là bonus là extra.

Heo tộc ngon. Mình nhấn mạnh mình không chê món này. Nhưng mình kèm thêm nhiều mỡ để ai có chế độ ăn kiêng phải suy nghĩ.

Mình order sò huyết, mực trứng, nhân viên báo không có và mình chọn món khác, ok. Nhưng món signature mà nhà hàng quảng cáo rầm rộ là cá tầm cũng không có hàng. 🙂

Lẩu Vua. Mình chẳng cần biết bạn dùng bí kíp 31 gia vị gì. Bạn dọn lên 1 nồi lẩu chưa tương xứng với giá tiền thì mình có quyền chê. Mình được 5 lát cá hồi mỏng như ăn sashimi. 5 khoanh cừu cắt lát mỏng cuộn lại. Dĩa thịt bò cũng lát đát vài miếng. 15 con nghêu, 5 con tôm, 5 thanh cua và 1 mớ 3-4 thể loại tàu hủ. Thậm chí mỳ vắt mà bạn nói còn chỉ là mỳ gói, không được cả mỳ trứng. Phần lẩu này có xứng trên 900k không ạ? Mình có góp ý với em nhân viên ngay là phần lẩu giá cao mà chỉ thấy tàu hủ, mấy em nhân viên chỉ bẽn lẽn cười rồi không giải quyết gì. Nhà đang tụ họp ăn vui chẳng lẽ phải gào lên đòi nói chuyện...
