Southeastern Armed Forces Museum — Attraction in Ho Chi Minh City

Really important place to visit to learn more about the history of the war in Vietnam. The positive points are that the entrance fee is very reasonable and that there is a lot of content and information. Unfortunately, it is far too warm inside and with far too many people (no AC). It makes the visit very difficult as there is a lot to read. The other negative point was that the museum seems very disorganised. Even though you follow the steps in order, the order doesn’t really make a lot of sense (not chronological), which to us was more confusing than anything. The amount of people reading the same board at once made it very difficult to read considering the level of focus required to make sense of the amount of information given. Finally, young children were allowed in the museum. Considering the seriousness of the information transmitted in this museum as well as how graphic the pictures presented are, it doesn’t seem appropriate to allow children that will end up being disruptive due to their lack of understanding and boredom. Not really respectful having two kids laugh and run around when you are reading about thousands of people being slaughtered...

Easy to find using Google maps the place is very nice some of the comments underneath the photos or negative towards Americans, but that is explainable being in Vietnam tunnels they made to explore were very cool and unique very lifelike. Interesting military museum, showing uniforms and weapons of the Vietnamese Army. The main focus is on the First and Second Indochina Wars. We will find there individual Vietcong / NVA equipment. The Củ Chi Tunnels exhibition is very interesting. Unfortunately, the Ho Chi Minh Trail exhibition was closed :( Museum off the beaten track so I was the only tourists visiting the exhibition.
