First off, the girl that greeted me or should I say not greeted me at the door was very impersonal and distracted. When the food came it tasted fishy. No attempt ever was made to see if my food was satisfactory. I ordered three items, sent one back, and hardly touched the other two. Really, I wanted to have something that didn’t taste like any kind of meat as I have been a vegetarian most of my life. Yes, there is a language barrier because I speak English and apparently all the workers there only spoke Vietnamese which is a little different than what I experienced in big cities like Ho Chi Minh where there are a lot of American tourists and many English speaking Vietnamese. 🍃To be on the safe side, Michelle and I opted for vegetarian cuisine, since we don't at all eat pork. Apparently, HCMC has an abundance of vegetarian restaurants! We walked to this restaurant named 'Cay De Vegetarian Restaurant', and it was perhaps the best meal we ever had in HCMC! The vegetarian soup noodles were spicy and rich! They had so many authentic Vietnamese dishes, we were spoilt for choice. Just take a look at the photos. Vietnamese tend to use the freshest leaves in almost every dish serve; basil leaves, cilantro, etc. Pickles, chilies and lime is always served as a side to complement the main dish. And the Vietnamese spring rolls, crisp and hot from the wok, were too good describe, especially we were both famished...

I came here for the first time in 2017 and my taste buds were amazingly blessed 😍. I was with local Vietnamese friends who are meat lovers, and they haven't stopped talking about the restaurant especially the fruit rolls. As for me, I loved, and still love everything we ordered because it was just as I remembered it during this visit - everything was yummy 😋. I don't think I have a favorite yet because I loved everything that we ordered. Might need to make a few laps around the entire menu before I can settle on favorites. So what I'm saying in a nutshell is that you won't be disappointed with anything you order. Oh, and let's not forget how affordable the meals are in comaprison to other restaurants that can't hold a candle...
