Trên Tầng Thượng is a hidden gem located in a small alley near the train station in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Although tucked away, once you climb the stairs, you’ll discover a spacious and beautifully designed restaurant with a romantic and relaxed atmosphere. It’s a popular spot for young Vietnamese, especially in the evenings.

My visit was particularly special as I was there to help a Vietnamese friend propose to his girlfriend. The staff at Trên Tầng Thượng were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us with decorations and preparations, which made the surprise proposal go smoothly. Their friendliness and willingness to accommodate our needs really stood out.

We also ordered several dishes for dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. While the café is known for its coffee, the food is equally impressive. The grilled meat skewers, in particular, were so delicious that they left us speechless.

In terms of pricing： The drinks here are reasonably priced around VND 100,000. The food is slightly more expensive, with most dishes ranging from VND 200,000 to 300,000. And this time, we opted for a set menu, which included six courses for about VND 1,000,000. However, if you have a group of men with big appetites, the portion size might be a bit on the smaller side.

Apart from that, the most impressive part is that there is even a singer who was singing almost all the night. This made the whole atmosphere become more relaxed.😎

During my visit, I noticed a staff member taking pictures of customers without their consent. This action, in itself, is highly inappropriate and invasive of one’s privacy. However, what is even more concerning is that the staff member specifically targeted and took pictures of individuals who identified as queer. This action demonstrates a severe lack of respect for customers’ boundaries and personal identities.

As a loyal customer, I have always appreciated the welcoming and inclusive environment that your coffee store has provided. However, this incident has shattered my confidence in the safety and respect that your establishment claims to uphold. Taking pictures of anyone without their consent is unacceptable, but targeting and invading the privacy of queer individuals is particularly troubling.

I strongly urge you to take immediate action to address this matter. Such behavior from a member of your staff not only violates customers’ rights but also tarnishes the reputation of your coffee store. It is crucial that you conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, identify the staff member involved, and take appropriate disciplinary measures to prevent similar incidents...

The pricing for self-serve drinks in a plastic cup at this café is quite high. Considering the average price of 70-80k VND per drink, it would be beneficial for the café to prioritize its customers more. While I understand that the view is an essential element of Tren Tang Thuong, it is equally important for them to prioritize the quality of service provided to their customers. Charging 70-80k VND per drink in District 3 is excessive, especially when considering the poor design and material of the cups used. This price range even surpasses that of District 1, the main district of Ho Chi Minh City.

Additionally, I witnessed a distressing incident where a customer fell into the lotus pool, and to my surprise, the employees merely stood by and did nothing to assist. This negligence on their part further highlights the need for the café to prioritize customer care and safety. The café needs to train their staff to respond promptly and appropriately to such situations, ensuring the well-being of their patrons.
