This must be the most stress full and frustrated place to order. 3 days in a row I tried to order something that they call “breakfast”. They told me it’s only available from 7am till 10am. The only time I could get one of this noodle soups from “breakfast” is when I asked my hotel to call the restaurant and reserved it for me. The hotel called around noon and was almost 15 min on the phone… by 2:30 I could go and enjoy it even thought they served everything dry on the plate and a little bowl of broth was served next to it… I ordered a soup bowl. I don’t know what’s going on with this restaurant and why it’s such an issue. Other days I would come and order the breakfast dishes as separated plates and they would serve it, offcourse it would cost twice the price. For instance I would ask portion of noodles and portion of Nấm Tiềm ( sauted mushrooms). It would cost 89k +15k. And they would serve it BUT a soup bowl with the same noodles and the same Nấm Tiềm and some green veggie leafs, they would say they don’t have the ingredients because it’s only for the breakfast. But that would cost 49k. I don’t mind paying a little extra, whatever, just serve what’s on your menu! Anyway, I woke up early enough to go to this place for the breakfast I’ve arrived there a little before 8:30 AM. And guess what?! They didn’t had the breakfast!!! When I eventually ordered something else, already stressed because what on earth is that kind of restaurant?! Why did I wake up at 6:30 to be here on time and they don’t serve what’s on their damn menu?! They returned and told me: they run out of noodles!!! At 8:30 in the morning!!!! Other people were clearly eating the noodle soups ( breakfast), how do you run out of all the ingredients most of your dishes need by 8:30 in the morning while they’re open till late in the night?! I ordered a portion of noodles the night before at 20:00/ 8pm so either those people refused to serve me or something else is going on! I lost time going here and back and finding an other vegan place, food shouldn’t cause you to stress. Also as the other comments said, it’s not a clean place at all! And the girls working there have most nasty nails! One has those long nails like Dracula and the other had dirt under her nails. That’s the last thing you want to see when receiving your food from their hands. Not even to mention that the neighbourhood is one of the dirties I’ve seen so far. The dishes I tried were either extremely oily because they are deep frieds, either dried out, like the tofu and mushies. It’s obviously far away from the pictures on their menu. I tried really to give this restaurant a chance but if the people can’t run their business the...
Read moreWhat I experienced on the day I set foot in here was the best dining experience I've ever had. I was actually heading to a vegan place a couple stores down the road but a gravitational pull had me turn around and look inside Shakti. And am I ever so glad I did!
The moment I saw the sign for the soft opening, I knew I had to take a peek. But a peek was not enough, no, the staff quickly came to greet me with smiling faces and a friendly welcoming!
I was guided upstairs in my own private overlook from the modern and comforting balcony that I could view the entire restaurant. I was joined by Khoa, a fantastic gentleman with an aspiring vision to bring healthy food and fantastic dishes abroad.
He educated me on his life story and the inspiration for this restaurant. I was guided through the menu and recommended multiple dishes along with a very refreshing Dragonfruit drink!
Dishes:
(Phở Bát Đá) The Breakfast Pho was out of this world, it came sizzling in stone bowl loaded with vegetables and tofu. With each bite, I could make out all of the ingredients and how they worked together to deliver such a great soup. Accompanying this dish was plenty of herbs and lime to add another level of taste. The broth was perfection, I ensured I drank every last bit! 11/10
Runner up is the chả giò rong biển Shakti (Seaweed Spring Rolls). The multiple levels of texture and flavor made my taste buds dance on this one. The crispyness of the fried coating, the second crunch of the seaweed, and the soft inside full of vegetables and herbs. Delicate yet full of flavor and the seaweed really did it for me. Can't imagine a spring roll without it now!
bánh tráng trộn (Rice Paper Mix) was a very refreshing dish and my first time experiencing this salad based dish. So many complementing layers of acidity and saltiness with a tad of sweetness from all of the rice paper, fruit, vegetables, and fresh greens. Very enjoyable to eat and felt so good after!
trà thanh long đỏ (Red Dragonfruit Tea) made me feel like I was in a tropical paradise. Not too sweet and the perfect pairing with the salad and spring rolls I had. It was full of dragonfruit pieces and so enjoyable to finish.
Verdict: The menu is so extensive and it is just the beginning. I can only imagine the future offerings to come! I believe no matter what you choose you will enjoy your meal. The price is reasonable for the quality and service you receive. I felt honored to eat here, I came as a customer and left as a friend! The world needs more places and passionate people like Shakti. And I love sharing a similar vision through food and beliefs as...
Read moreWent for the first time in this restaurant after searching a little bit on Google in nha trang for a vegetarian restaurant since my girlfriend is vegetarian and she was a bit done with the tofu base dishes everywhere.
It says it closes at 10pm as you all can see in the description of the hours/schedules. We arrived around 8:40pm and they had 3 tables in.
Very good looking restaurant, the decoration, the set up of the tables and the dress from the waitress are cleaned and pretty. It was cozy and comfortable to seat there while listening to a good playlist. The menu is gorgeous and you can see the menu while you have the images from all the plates. Pretty entertaining actually that menu. This was the best part of our dining experience there.
The worst part was what come after. I don’t know if the workers were on a rush to go home but they could have just told us that they were going to close and they couldn’t serve us.
Point 1: we ordered 5 different plates and they only had 1. After that weird moment of listening “we don’t have” then I asked what do you have then and we kept with the things they said they had. So afterall we had to eat what they still had.
Point 2: language barrier. Although I totally understand English is not mandatory here and Vietnamese struggle a little bit with the language they had more than 5 waitress using their phones but none of them could say a word or use the google translate to have a support for the guests like we had even on a street food restaurant.
Point 3: while we were eating some of the staff carried the garbage just on our side, going on the middle of the restaurant and that’s just disgusting.
Point 4: after the garbage thing they started sweeping and mooping the floor like we were not even there eating.
The two stars is for the good looking of the restaurant and the...
