Review of Thuy Duong Coffee Shop:
Thuy Duong Coffee Shop is an absolute nightmare. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the staff lacked any semblance of professionalism or attentiveness. It is truly astonishing how one establishment can have such an abysmal level of service.
To start, the waiter at Thuy Duong Coffee Shop was more interested in her phone than attending to customers. She was engrossed in a personal conversation, completely disregarding the fact that there were customers waiting to be served. Her blatant disregard for customer service was infuriating.
When I finally managed to get her attention and placed my order, it felt like I was a mere inconvenience to her. There was no politeness or enthusiasm, just a sense of indifference and annoyance. It was incredibly disheartening to be treated with such disrespect.
Once my coffee finally arrived, it was clear that the level of incompetence extended beyond just the staff's attitude. The coffee was lukewarm and tasted like disappointment in a cup. To make matters worse, when I brought up the issue to the waiter, she shouted at me, as if I was the one at fault.
The unprofessional behavior continued as the staff carried on with their loud and boisterous conversations, completely disregarding the atmosphere in the coffee shop. It was impossible to enjoy a quiet moment or engage in a conversation without being drowned out by their personal chatter.
Even when I mustered up the courage to address my concerns to the manager, they displayed a shocking level of apathy. They dismissed my complaints, refusing to hold their staff accountable for their behavior. It was a clear reflection of the complete lack of professionalism and concern for customer satisfaction.
In all seriousness, I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I advise against visiting Thuy Duong Coffee Shop. The combination of their unprofessional and inattentive staff, along with subpar coffee, make it an establishment that should be avoided at all costs. Save yourself the frustration and find a different café that values its customers and provides a pleasant experience.
I personally hope that...
Read moreRather mixed-impressions of this place. You would probably have better time here if you were local and had a bit of money.
Pros: The food is pretty good! The tamarind sauce on the chicken wings is delicious. Decent portions, served hot and fresh. Some of the staff - especially the young man who I presume to be the manager - are very friendly, attentive and helpful. One other member of staff speaks some English and seems capable of smiling. The view is beautiful. They serve the rarest of elixirs - vodka.
Cons: Rather expensive for what you get. Most of the menu was so pricey we wouldn't consider ordering it. Whilst the view is lovely, the general area is run-down and stinks. Staff are apparently terrified of speaking to white people and flee from you to find their manager. Service is pretty slow. It's a coach-trip place so be prepared for the hordes.
Having said that - I notice a previous review said that napkins came with a fee. We came here twice - used a forest's worth - and didn't see them appear...
Read moreThey scammed us on the price of the vegetarian noodles we ordered which was around 45000 Dong, when the bill came that had charged 120000! They said the other price is breakfast menu, and it was now lunch. I asked to see the lunch menu to verify, and they do not even have vegetarian noodles on that menu, only meat noodles for 120000. They have vegetarian noodles only on breakfast menu, so they just changes the price to the same as meat noodles! To add insult to injury, they also charges us 3000 for napkins!? I would not have ordered that dish of it was going to be so expensive and I would not have used the napkins! The meal was also bland '2 minute' instant noodles that are cheap, with boiled onions, baby corn and bak choi. Very tasteless and bland, definitely Not worth 120000!! These people...
