Very disappointed and would not recommend.
We had to wait 5 minutes to see the menu as the restaurant only had one which another table were using. The menu was also old and the paper was falling apart at the edges which didn’t look very professional.
We had to move table from outside to inside due to the tables being overrun by ants and fruit flies.
We had the avocado on toast and the pork spring rolls. The wait for the food was quite long especially as we were only the second table of customers at the restaurant. When the food eventually arrived it wasn’t very nice. The pork spring rolls were ok but too oily to eat the whole portion between the two of us. When the avocado on toast arrived the eggs were not fully cooked through and should have been poached for longer which is disappointing because they look like good quality fresh eggs! The toast is also basically just a garlic bread style baguette which has been refried to warm it up. The bread was slightly stale and rock hard and the oil on the bottom made the flavour horrible. The avocado is also more of a guacamole style so was too smooth and didn’t have much flavour.
We left after taking the photo and went somewhere else to eat.
The only redeeming factors are the staff are friendly and there are lots of chickens in the garden behind the restaurant which are very cute but I would never...

While exploring with a few friends, we stumbled upon Grandma's Garden Coffee & Restaurant, lured by the enchanting music playing inside. The ambiance was cozy and picturesque, perfectly blending modern style with a touch of Vietnamese tradition.
We decided to give it a try and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and drinks. I would highly recommend their Mango Macchiato Tea—the perfect balance of fruity sweetness and creamy goodness—and the French Toast, which was beautifully presented and tasted heavenly, with just the right amount of crispiness and flavor.
The service was impeccable, and the staff were warm and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. If you're ever in Ninh Bình, don't miss out on this little paradise. It’s a must-visit, especially for food lovers and those seeking a peaceful...
Read moreOur home stay recommended Grandma's Garden as the best place to eat locally and they were right, and we only had to walk 300 metres. We had dinner here each night,( four nights in late March) as after enjoying the delicious meals (also very large servings) why would we go elsewhere. The young staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating; we came too late a couple of times, but they still served us. Meals are affordable ( they really should put the prices up). We so much looked forward to our evenings here after a day's sightseeing, as the attractive garden setting and the very friendly hosts, were such a treat. Best spring rolls we had in our month of travel in Vietnam. We wish this family business much success, regards Jocelyn and Duncan...
