We went to this restaurant for dinner at around 6.30pm. This is a huge place with plenty of seats, so one doesn’t have to be worried about the crowd.
We ordered a Banh Xeo with chicken (129k) and a tofu cooked with eggplant (99k) to share. Food was served pretty quickly. The banh xeo was huge! The server helped us cut it into smaller pieces, for us to wrap and eat the dish with rice paper. It was a wholesome dish, we plenty of vegetables and a generous amount of meat. But we were slightly surprised by the amount of oil that was left on the plate after we finished the meal. Not sure if it came from the gravy from the stir fried vegetables in the pancake, or the pancake itself. But it was a slight turn off.
The tofu dish was served in a claypot and the contents remained hot throughout the meal. The tofu is tender and nicely fried and the sauce goes really well with rice.
The dining experience was pretty decent, but the place can get smokey real fast if any customers order any hotplate dish. We encountered it twice during our time there, and the restaurant became smokey and filled with the smell of the dish. Apart from this, it is a good restaurant for a...
Read moreService here is generally quick. I came by at around half past six and the tables outside were all taken. Not to worry, they have plenty of tables inside. Generally I wouldn't worry too much...until someone orders Bun Cha, one of the dishes on a sizzling hotplate that smokes up the area real fast. That's right, if you're walking past this restaurant, you might be really curious about the sizzling hotplate chock full of meat.
I got the Banh Xeo (129K) which was quite a good experience. The server helps you to cut up the pancake into smaller pieces and also asks if you are familiar with wrapping your own pancake to eat. I liked that there were plenty of vegetables and there were many chicken pieces in the pancake. Staff were also quick to notice when the rice paper ran out and asked if refills were needed.
I also got the eggplant and tofu in a claypot (99K - they need to update their menu's prices which has an old pricing of 79K). This was savoury and very tasty. It came with rice and a side salad of shredded cabbage. I'm not sure what kind of dressing they used, but it was...
Read moreBest restaurant in all of Tam Coc, so much that we ate here 3 times in a row. Some of the items we had were the fresh spring rolls with goat, fish soup, egg coffee, and coconut coffee. Meat was so fresh, and soup broth was more flavorful than all of the Vietnamese food I’ve had on my trip here. The coconut coffee was refreshing and light, while the egg coffee was creamy and rich. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated as well. Expect an authentic Vietnamese and ambient experience when you eat here!
Liem is a wonderful owner/host and the rest of the staff are so attentive, you will always feel welcome, full, and valued as a customer here. He let us rent both bikes and motorbike from here cheaper than any other place. He recommended beautiful places to explore just outside of the Main Street area that are not known by most tour companies....
