A lovely spot. We went there on our last day at 11am to eat lunch and ended up staying until 6pm. If I had discovered it earlier, I would've come back the next day. The staff is incredibly friendly and speak good English. It's a clean beach, sadly a rare find on Phu Quoc. The food is top notch, best we've had on the island. The smoothies are all great. Special recommendations for the Grilled Scallops (ordered it as snack again in the afternoon as it was so good), Grilled Prawns and Grilled Squid. To access, when you get in front of Chen Sea resort, take the small alleyway on the left and follow the path until a clearing in the forest. There are steps directly in front of you, don't go there as these lead to the neighbouring restaurant which is not as good and friendly. Instead, walk to the left for 2 min in the forest before seeing other steps that lead you to the beach and Bamboo.
Quick mention, there are a bunch of dogs here that are all extremely friendly. None ever barked during the whole day. They just came up and sat next to us when eating at a comfortable distance, looking cute...
Read moreDeeply disappointed. Read a whole load of rave reviews and was expecting something better as a result. I guess the real lesson is not to trust a review, which makes a nonsense of the whole process. It was all a little grubby, including the corner of the beach that 2 little restaurants occupy. The resort next door has laid down its frontier, both in the sand and in the sea. Service was poor at best. Ordered drinks and half an hour later we were asked what we had ordered. A juice and a smoothie eventually made their way to the table. This is more than can be said for the food. An hour later we were asked what we had ordered. Five minutes later we were served some instant noodles with over cooked veg, boiled morning glory instead of stir fried, and rice that had clearly been sitting around for a while. We laid down on the beach for a few minutes then got attacked by horseflies. Gave up and...
Read moreAwesome family restaurant, a little away from the main roads on a secluded beach. We were there in the evening and there was almost no one else there. It was amazing - cozy, quiet, palm trees and the sound of the surf. The food is incredibly tasty and authentic - very fresh and simple, just what we were looking for to feel the taste of island seafood without an excessive amount of chili, spices, batter, etc. Very tasty fresh spring rolls, although they are not on the menu, but they made them for me. The wonderful owner of the restaurant was genuinely interested in whether we liked the dishes and was very friendly. We had a wonderful conversation with her about food and Vietnam. This restaurant has touched our hearts the most in 2 weeks in Vietnam (6 cities), I think its rating is underestimated. I wish them prosperity and many customers and to cook just as deliciously for many...
