View is very nice, however, it is noticable how terrible the maintenance of the area is. Totally destroyed the true beauty and value of the place and the beach.
The restaurant was introduced by one of the staff working at the New World Phu Quoc Resort. I trusted the staff judgement as a local living in Phu Quoc while working at a high quality Resort but unfortunately.. it was my fault for not doing enough research of the place before taking my family there for dinner.
Food was fresh nonetheless but the way they process the dish was very disappointing. A waste of good ingredients and quality time with family.
Hạnh Nhung restaurant is an overrated restaurant with little to no refine in the food or service. As an easy eater and an experienced street foods hunter. I find it is better to just take your family to the night market [Chợ Đêm Phú Quốc] which located on the opposite side of the island 21 minutes away from the restaurant itself and have many places for you to experience with the family.
In conclusion to my review, I don't recommend you to try this restaurant [Hạnh Nhung] and hope you will not fall for the scam that my family...
Read moreDon't go here. This place is the definition of a tourist trap. The taxi driver was in cahoots with the restaurant. He dropped us off at the restaurant but for some miraculous reason know that we walked out due to the restaurant’s used car sales tactics and offered to drive us to another restaurant. We later find out that it's a well known practice that the driver would get a cut for driving/referring tourists to the restaurant. There was no price listed at the restaurant like other places so we asked for a menu. The server gave us the menu with the price torn up/covered up but also pulled out a separate price list on his phone which was double to triple of what we would normally pay for at the most decent restaurant in Saigon. They wanted to charge 400k VND (~20 US dollars) for half a chicken. The server kept on pushing us to get the crabs/lobster even though we told him multiple times that the kids were crab out because they have been eating them during the past few days. They have a lot of five stars reviewers whose only review is this restaurant.... something that doesn't add up... don't know how they can still be...
Read moreWent on a Monday noon, price was not the cheapest, also not the most expensive. They had a price list in Vietnamese language on a board next to seafood tank, so I used Google translate to get a sense of the prices. They wouldn't offer any discount despite me bargaining, but the seafood are rather tasty and super fresh. Prawn mantis (mid size) =800k /kg Prawn mantis (Large size)=1,000k/kg Venus clams = 200k/kg Manila clams =250k/kg Fish=690k/kg. Only ordered 1 meat dish since this is a seafood place, roasted chicken stir fry with sweet sauce, 200k half chic, was too dry for my liking. Avoid garlic fried rice (large =150k) at all cost, rice is super dry, obviously stale rice cooked for days. The steamed white rice tasted ok. The vegetable (80k) stir fry with garlic was very fresh and tasty. All the seafood tasted good, except for meat and garlic rice. Softdrinks cost 20K/per bottle I...
