Ngọc Trai Xanh Resort & Bungalow — Hotel in Phú Quốc

A beautiful self-contained mini resort type accommodation - a series of large terraced apartments with spacious porches set out in a square around a decent sized pool and courtyard area. The front desk was very helpful and assisted with anything that we needed, although Google translate may be required here and there. The rooms themselves were very clean, however you may expect to have the odd visitor in the form of a gecko (did not see a single roach in any area during our 3 day stay). The rooms have everything you need such as air con, TV, fridge etc. the hot water for shower may take a little while to pull through but it is there - the shower heads are mounted a little low on the wall so anybody tall may struggle unless they use the less powerful overhead rainfall style shower head. The location is a bit remote and a minimum 15 minute scooter ride is needed to get anywhere with decent infrastructure - the bungalows do rent out scooters for a average price although they may be a little run down. This is kind of off set by the very casual nature of the transaction - it’s very much take the keys, do what you want and pay later, no inspections etc. Would recommend to anybody that wants a bit of peace out of the way of busy areas but is confident and willing to jump on a scooter to get to...

The hotel is a option to stay in the island if you can find a good offer in some applications. The pool is nice!

We rating with just 3 starts for the next reasons: The staff is unfriendly, just the guy is the most helpful but the girls are really annoying. When we arrive they don’t explain nothing just give our room and don’t say nothing about the hotel, services, etc.

The housekeeper is the worst we experienced. They always come at 8 am knocking the door to ask if you need cleaning. 4 days she wake up us at the same time. We try to explain that we want clean service after 10 am but she doesn’t understand and we had to speak with the guy.

If you don’t like animals, this is not your place, you will find a lot of geckos inside the room.

The motorbike price is expensive 200vdn/day we ask for offer because we would like rent during 9 days and the girl say not possible. If you are looking to rental check close to the airport they have the best service. For just 150k.

If you don’t want rental motorbike this hotel is not a good option for you. Grab are not available in this area ( really difficult get it )

In the corner of the street there are a good cafe with a lot of options.

This hotel is a disaster. I stayed over 2 weeks and asked for housekeeping only when I’m out several times but they ignored it(I gave them jellies , snacks and even tips)leaving my room filthy (my friends got injured from car accident . after two days away. Power was off, so food in the fridge rotted, and humidity ruined my clothes and bedding. My motorbike was oleft in the rain while the manager’s was under shade clear neglect. Towels, coffee, and sugar weren’t provided daily. The manager barely speaks English, and even with a translator, they didn’t care.
