As an American working in Vietnam, my opinion is very high of Sit and Sip. I don’t speak Vietnamese but he spoke English well. My first order was the beef burger which turned out to be a slab of brisket-big and tasty! I was very impressed as my burger encounters so far have been average at best. I returned with friends and tried the beef ribs plate (1 rib is standard-if you want more-ask him) while my friends ordered the pulled pork and beef burger-perfect again. We had to order the sides for the sandwiches and large portions of French fries were delivered. All of our drinks were great. We then decided to try a catering option with him and he spoke of the different varieties of beef he can get from HCM city. He described the Vietnam beef as very lean, the Australian variety with a bit more fat and then the Canadian/American beef as most fatty. We all know fat marbling is important with beef and we trusted his word so we ordered 5 kilos of beef ribs (American/Canadian) and 5 kilos of pork ribs. The seasoning was perfect, the meat was perfect, and the price was more than perfect. He delivered on everything he promised. I don’t need to look for another bar-b-q place-Sit and Sip will rival anybody! I have many years of smoking meat and this young man can hang with any I have eaten stateside. He does all of this with a barrel smoker/grill. Lastly-like many Vietnamese-he is very humble and polite. He hid nothing from...
Read moreI read reviews about good cocktails and I don't understand who left these reviews. The bartender either doesn't understand cocktails at all, or he's saving money and mostly uses only juices and cheap alcohol. I've been drinking a couple of cocktails my entire adult life - Singapore Sling and Negroni, I know what they should look like. The first time they brought me a cocktail made of just juice with a drop of gin, terribly sour and without bitterness. The bartender said that he did the right thing, but if that were the case, the taste would be correct. Then I asked the waiter to take this cocktail away, because the bartender was blatantly lying about its preparation, but for some reason they remade it. They brought me a little less juice, but still half-filled with lemon juice, which is much less in the recipe. Okay, I didn't want to argue anymore, it was at least remotely similar to this cocktail in street bars, where they make it for a couple of dollars from a photo, but not as bad as the first time, it was just juice with gin. People who wrote good reviews, you should go to other bars to understand what your drinks should taste like. Expecting to get into one of the best places, I got to a place where the staff does not care about global...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic cocktails! The staff have excellent knowledge and are very passionate. It is also a brilliant omakase experience; you can describe the flavours and tastes you like and they will create a custom cocktail for you.
