Never done a review of a restaurant but yoh, I'm still touched.
It was one of those days I felt like taking myself out and couldn't decide whether a movie or just a meal. After a good couple of minutes i picked on Copper Creek Spur by Manda Hill. Walked in and took a seat. The gent who welcomed me was really nice, gave me a table and offered the menu. I asked for some time to go through it, then order. He left and..... Disappeared. Then began the horror. After being by-passed by a number of waiters, ine not sure if I should raise my hand, a lady stopped and asked if i was done. I gave my order and asked her to give me time to select my drink. Ehe, she walked away, no word, ine not sure if my order was taken or not. Anyway after some minutes, she walked back and i told her ill have a fruit juice. Here's the funny thing, she got the menu but didn't ask what flavor i wanted or give me options. I ignored it and waited for my food, juice came in mango flavor, i don't like mango flavored juice. Benefit of a doubt, i told myself and put it aside. On a hot afternoon, i don't think a room temperature drink is favorable but whatever it was juice. My food came, oh my word! As my grandmother would tell me, it was still alive. Not that it wasn't cooked no, it was, but the crumbs around my schnitzel were still whitish, the mushroom sauce was off and the mixture ๐ ๐ฉ๐ญ. So my food came with the same attitude oh, just dumped my plate on my table. I would have thought i even did something to her. I kept asking myself, was it the way i looked (t-shirt, jeans and slippers) my sunday attire, or did i say something? Like seriously i have never been given such awful service at a restaurant before. Naku hungry lion all those questions make you feel wanted. As a service provider, no matter what level you're at, make sure you try to leave all issues behind. It's highly unprofessional for you to give attitude to a client/customer just cause of something that happened to you. It may be hard but iyayi. I have worked mu restaurant before, no skin color, background or age would make me treat you differently. Your money will pay my bills and I will want to make you happy. If I can't help you now, I'd love for you to recommend a friend or call back later simply because you enjoyed quality service. Others may love the place but after the horrible service and off food.... Is...
ย ย ย Read moreI went here in the late afternoon with a group of about 20 people. It took nearly two hours to get our food. The restaurant, aside from our group, wasn't terribly busy, so it seemed like an excessive amount of time. It may just be that as an American, I am used to having a quick service time and we were there with a big group, so take that with a grain of salt.
The biggest grievance was that I have food allergies to Dairy, Eggs, Tree Nuts, and shellfish. So my options were limited, inherently. When I ordered, I was very specific about not getting cheese on my burger and asking to get the ingredients on the bun, to make sure there were no eggs. I never got a response on the buns, from the server, and when she brought my food out 1:40hr later, it had been slathered with cheese. I had to send it back, and wait another 20-30 minutes.
After that, I still had no answer as to whether or not I could eat the buns, so I found a manager and asked him. He seemed to go check, but I never got an answer from him either.
If you have made it this far in my review, let m finally get you the saving grace of this restaurant experience. The burger that I ate, sans bun, was delicious. The sauce was tasty and it was a well prepared burger. That is what earned them the 3/5 stars in my review.
I would recommend this restaurant for small groups, of no more than 4-5 people. Expect to spend 1:30hrs to 2hrs there eating and chatting. The service may not be amazing, and it isn't great if you have any dietary restrictions, but the burger was delicious. 6/10...
ย ย ย Read moreSpur.... It's always been the best place for middle class Zambian families to take their kids on a Wednesday night to have a family dinner. It was the bomb. Was! They have not maintained these standards, the kids play areas is full of broken toys and Playstations. When it comes to customer experience, the waitors and waitresses have no idea what customer service or accountability is. I asked to change my drink and the waitress literally said " I've already punched the order" like what does that even mean? It seems the only person who understands customer orientation is the manager. I reckon the manager should serve all the customers if they wanna keep their business. Thirdly I ordered their famous spur fillet and boy was it dry! This is not the spur fillet I fell in love with. I thought it was just a bad day so I ordered it again on another day but still the same... I don't know what they're doing to their food but standards have dropped to an all time low... Even the ribs are horrible.... Quite literally the only reason I might go back there's is too take the little kids to their favourite place to play and occasionally have a free bite on Wednesdays.... I will however have to find another family friendly restaurant in...
