My son and I were on a trip, from Sydney to Albury, and we stayed overnight at the Albury City Motel. It was one of the cleanest and well presented rooms I've had the pleasure to sleep in. The owners, a husband and wife team, went out of their way to facilitate our very late arrival past normal closing hours which was really appreciated and made life SO much easier and less stressful. Everything was as you would want it to be in the room. very comfy single beds, CLEAN linen/sheets. All the surfaces were clean and the bathroom was clean and well sized. Even the shower was good and I don't often score a 'good' showerhead! The price was the best on offer anywhere so I really feel like we landed on our feet with this one. Not luxury-plus, for sure, but one of the very best so-called 3 star budget rooms I've stayed in over the years. I'm happy to give this a strong recommendation. Donna was the very helpful lady who looked after us and her caring and attention to detail made all the difference to our stay with them....
Read moreClean: I need clean rooms, beds and linen. I was thoroughly satisfied. As soon as I entered the room, not only was it neat and clean, but it had a very pleasant smell, which made me feel immediately at home. I loved it as soon as I entered the room.
Service: As we were driving there, I received a text from the Motel with a picture and explanation of where I would find the key, wifi password, my room number and where it was located inside the compound. Other than that, didn't have to interact with the staff as we reached there late at night and left in the early morning.
Location: It was my first stay at Albury, so didn't really know anything, but the motel is roughly a 5 mins drive from the Lavington shopping mall.
Price: I thought the price was reasonable at $148 for a family of four.
People who are looking for modern interiors will be disappointed, but I'm not concerned with that at all, so I give it a 5/5, I will definitely go back...
Read moreIf you had nowhere else to go then maybe this hotel would be worth it, however I strongly recommend you consider the other hotels here as they offer a lot better service for near the same price - I stayed at two hotels on the way through and back from a trip and in comparison this hotel was awful - they pretend to care about the environment but it's really just for their pockets, they mix shampoo and conditioner which is horrible for your hair, the toilet paper dispenser is near non-functional and the facilities offered are at a bare minimum, the bed was rock hard and I will not be staying here again. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else in Albury as you're low-balling yourself if you opt for this place, there are better options for more or less...
