Spent a few very pleasant hours at Lake Weeroona and it's surrounding park, circumnavigating it and enjoying the peaceful surrounds on an easy, level, bitumen walking/cycling path. Dozens of places to stop and enjoy the views across the lake, lots of benches sprinkled around the lake, with plenty of shady trees for protection from the sun. Benches and picnic tables, drinking fountains for people and dogs, Doggy Doo disposal bags are sprinkled all around the park. Toilets, free BBQ facilities, car parking, extensive children's playground, occasional food trucks and coffee carts are all located along the Eastern side...
Read moreA wonderful lake to walk around. This popular venue attracts dog walkers, bike riders, children, adults - just about anyone who enjoys relaxing in the great outdoors. After having a late breakfast nearby, we strolled around this very pleasant park, lake and gardens. The residents of Bendigo are indeed lucky to have such a terrific space to enjoy - as are the ducks, swans and other feathered creatures. Read moreThe lake is not only one of the nicest sites in Bendigo, but it's also a nexus of bike paths, roads and footpaths. It has an impressive playground to keep kids entertained, and has food trucks on the regular as well as a few other eating options surrounding it. It has public use BBQ's, ample parking and plenty of open green space as well (it's located next to a football oval too if you need more). So whether it be excercise, site seeing, or grabbing a quick meal I'd definitely recommend...
