They ceased to operate as a means of public transport in 1972 but part of the main network continues to operate today as a tourist attraction. Limited trials have also been made in 2009 with operating commuter service, but with minimal usage by the public.

Read moreA fantastic activity for the whole family. You buy an all day ticket for a very reasonable price. You can hop on and off the tram at the 5-6 different stops throughout Bendigo CBD. The first stop was a little challenging to find at first, but there's plenty of free parking at the starting stops (stop 1 & 6). We had a pram and nappy bag with us and were able to fold it away and store is neatly next to us on the tram. There is also a tram timetable online so you can plan your arrival at the first stop (tram was very punctual). You can either pre-order tickets online, QR code/pay at each stop or directly pay the tram conductor. A very enjoyable...
Read moreI wish to congratulate a staff member of Bendigo Tramways (Fiona) who was on duty at the Tramways Depot Ticket & Gift shop on the week-end of 28/29th May - for her happy, relaxed, plus brilliant smile and willingness to impart her knowledge of Bendigo's Trams History, plus snippets of Bendigo and its surrounds. Fiona is so suited to this role, she is a perfect Ambassador and definite asset for your company and Bendigo itself. We felt most welcomed into the shop, advice was given on the appropriate tour(s) for us, and 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude when choosing gifts for friends and family from your well stocked gift range. Our tram driver was also caring, happy and delivery of information on the tour was clear and...
