An amazing structure and park let down by some BIG design flaws. I walked around thinking" who in the world though THAT was a good idea?", multiple times. The black is a nightmare, gets all over everything, and doesn't come out of clothing because rather than being painted, it's burnt wood, so it's basically ash all over the hands, the cloths, etc. I'd like to think it'll get better in time, but in the mean time my kids wear clothes we don't care about. It will also be a terrible heat magnet come summer. C'mon, black!?!? In Brisbane?
As someone's already said, visibility is poor. Once they're in, you can't keep eyes on them. So make sure your kids are aware of the dangers. And kids will struggle to keep track of their friends, we had lots of complaints about not being able to find their friends after they'd gone in.
The high beams... 🤷I'm all for letting kids learn by doing, and I'm not one to bubble wrap my kids, but that's a serious injury waiting to happen. My kids aren't allowed on it, and they're 9 and 7. My son broke his arm by falling off a block in the prep classroom that was a whopping 5 cm high. No thank you to a 2.5m+ drop.
Other than that, it's great. The misters weren't in action when we've been so I didn't even know they were a thing, but that's awesome. The scooter track is a really good one and we really like the enchanted forest.
I hope over time we get more amazing parks here. Council should look at Spear Park in Newcastle, NSW as an excellent example of a great all around park that caters to all ages. Water play, slide structure, scooter tracks, flying foxes and giant nets, skate park and sound garden all in one. It's by far the best park I've ever taken them to- I wish I could find one...
Read moreWhoever designed this park clearly doesn't have children. I have a 7 year old whom I like to keep an eye on when she's at a park but this place is nearly fully clad in black wood so you have no idea where your child is once they are inside the structure. Considering how huge this thing is it's impossible to track which part of the structure they are in. It's a huge child safety issue. Not to mention the pertruding balance beam coming out of one side that at one point is 15+ feet off the ground with no netting under it.. if a kid falls off that they will be seriously injured. This structure has multiple exits and entrances which makes it even harder to figure out where your child is as well. For kids ten and over who might not need as much supervision this park might be fine but if your like me and you like to know where your child is I'd avoid this park. What an absolute waste of ten million dollars in tax...
Read moreI've never come across such a large park in all my 40 years. It's great for people of all ages. I've also never seen a park this challenging before. It truly pushes your kids to grow and challenge themselves. I came down here by myself, which was probably a mistake. I could have really used some help looking after the kids because this park is massive. I couldn't keep an eye on both of them, and since this park presents challenges for kids, it could be dangerous if you don't supervise them. However, there's nothing wrong with that. You should be supervising your kids, and there's nothing wrong with letting them do daring things while you're keeping an eye on them, like balancing on a beam, for example. As long as you're there to assist, it's safe, but you need to be present.
There are plenty of toilets, barbecues, and seating available. The park is...
