Finally went back to my old stomping grounds of the 70s and early 80s. Spent countless days hanging out on BMX bikes right through every part of this bush. Sure, it's been regulated, modernised and changed quite a lot, with wide easy tracks and houses around now, but was cool to see many of the old routes we went over hundreds or probably thousands of times still there. So glad "progress" hasn't stolen all of this area and most of it still remains. Will undoubtedly return when I come back down to Brisbane and relive...

With moderately easy walking tracks and multi-use tracks, once inside the reserve you could mistakenly believe you were in the middle of nowhere. Tracks are well maintained are suitable for all ages, walkers, joggers and mountain bikers. Its highest point at 75m is Spider Hill lookout, but views are limited. It's part of the Mountains to Mangroves corridor and links with the Milne Hill and Raven Street Reserves. Wildlife can be seen, as well as wildflowers in bloom depending on the...

These reserves are 'Rubbish Country'. All the best land was cleared for grazing and agriculture. The creek is pretty with some tree ferns and a bridge, but the rest is barren with stunted eucalypts and grass. There were lots of Banksia though which was good to see. Alot of the tracks were like fire breaks with signage denying us access with no explanation. No decent view from either of the hills we climbed. Didn't see any interesting animals. Overall I was bored and...

Great place for a train run or walk. New set of stairs added for that extra workout.

Nice enough. A few short trails. Parking spaces largely used by local strata with insufficient amenity for visitors. Bus access is pretty good. The actual bush is pretty nice and the tracks are enjoyable. Wayfinding is good by Brisbane City Council standards but you might like to bring some breadcrumbs because it's a bit Hansel and Gretel if you come from any place that supports walking.
