Miners Dugouts National Trust — Attraction in Burra

Cornish miners promised passage, work and housing. Many died on the trip to Burra then arrived to nothing but gruelling work. Many drowned in these dug outs after rainfall as they are in dried creek beds or died of consumption. Super interesting and heart breaking. Definately worth buying the town passport.
