We recently made a pit stop at Waters Burra Bakery on our journey to Broken Hill, and what a delightful find it was! Nestled in the charming town of Burra, this bakery is a gem.
The moment we walked in, the aroma of freshly baked goods greeted us warmly. The display was filled with an impressive variety of pastries, breads, and cakes that showcased their dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Each item looked tempting, and the taste did not disappoint!
The Cornish Pasty was one of the best Iāve ever had. It was packed with so much filling, and the pastry was just perfectānot too thick, but wonderfully flavorful.
We enjoyed the food so much that we stopped here again on our way back. The friendly staff added to the pleasant experience, providing excellent service with a smile. The cozy atmosphere made it a perfect spot to relax and recharge before continuing our road trip.

PS But to my surprise while I was perusing the display I saw a tiddy oggy pastie, which is the name of the small hamlet of which I hail from. Tiddy Oggy, located in Western Qld out near Cloncurry, is dubbed the Cornwall of Qld. Not many people know about my small hometown, but Tiddy O was establishment by a group of Cornish miners and their families who migrated to Cloncurry in the 1880s. Burra was definitely provided a nice change of weather and scenery compared to what Iām used to in Tiddy O, which only has heat, day, night and flies, no wind or rain or clouds. PPS Cloncurry is actually Cornish for two Cornish men at the bottom of a hole.
I hope the reader has enjoyed this tidbit of Tiddy...

We consider ourselves family bakery connoisseurs, as we plan our stops to sample local bakery delights. We believe this bakery is one of the best for traditional baked goods. We didnāt take photos because we were too busy enjoying the treats!
The vanilla slice made with authentic custard and the apple doughnut topped with sugar and cinnamon were both delicious. We also had a custard tart with nutmeg, sprinkled shapes which was delightful. To complete our lunch, we enjoyed chocolate milkshakes and freshly baked rolls.
The staff were friendly and engaging, and the atmosphere inside, along with sitting outside on the wooden benches, made this stop truly amazing. Itās a place we still talk...
