Amazing bridge, it's hard to believe that it's still structurally sound after such a long time. The convicts did a remarkable job. We camped just near the bridge at the council's rv park. It was free with a permit requested online. It was lovely, listening to the river nearby & the ducks. Don't feed the ducks, it contaminates the water & they won't eat their natural food sources. A bit windy & rainy the night we were there, but it was September. Also had some incredible carved trees in the park next to the bridge. The Book Cellar is also a treat, for the architecture & its literary variety. Campbell Town is well worth a visit.

Neat place to stop by for a break to stretch your legs if you're driving from Launceston. It's 3 wooden sculptures and one of the oldest standing bridges in Australia. It isn't a huge tourist attraction, but a nice, short stop you can make for a 10-15 minute break. The sculptures are very detailed, so I'd recommend getting right up close to them. Aside from that there is a medium park and some information on the bridge. There is also a cafe nearby, but it closes early.

Take a moment to appreciate the Bridge and the tree art. We passed here on 3 Dec 2024. Overcast, so cool and the colours were saturated for photos (Canon, not iPhone ! ). Enjoy the Bridge and the history explained. Enjoy the Tree Art (trees carved with interesting subjects, see photos). Enjoy the foot bridge, and the ducks! A Book shop over the road. Yes, worth the stop :)
