Elevate Your Adventure: Kosciuszko Chairlift

The Kosciuszko Chairlift is an essential feature for anyone visiting the iconic Mt. Kosciuszko. It’s not just a means of transportation; it’s the gateway to an unforgettable journey to Australia’s highest peak.

Well-Maintained Gateway: The chairlift is meticulously maintained, ensuring a safe and smooth ride for all visitors. The care taken in its upkeep is evident, providing peace of mind as you ascend towards the summit walk.

The Summit Walk: Starting from the top of the chairlift, the Mt. Kosciuszko Summit Walk is a well-trodden path that offers stunning panoramic views and a sense of achievement as you reach the summit of this majestic mountain.

Year-Round Sports: In the summer, the chairlift serves as a starting point for thrilling bike sports, allowing cyclists to experience the mountain’s terrain in a unique way. Come winter, it transforms into a hub for snow sports enthusiasts, offering access to pristine slopes and exhilarating runs.

A Worthwhile Experience: Whether you’re there for the hiking trails or the sports, the Kosciuszko Chairlift adds value to your adventure. It’s not just a ride; it’s an integral part of the experience that enhances your connection...

Kosciuszko Chairlifts Thredbo is not a bad way to get to the top of the mountain range...

I've taken the Chairlifts from Thredbo to Eagles nest twice in the last six last month once in September 2023 winter rates, and the cost was $70 again just now March 2024 summer rates and the cost was $55, can pre purchase tickets online at www.thredbo.com.au

Riding the Chairlifts offers amazing views overlooking the village of Thredbo and beyond...

The lift takes around 5-8 minutes to get up to Eagles' Nest Restaurant and is the starting point for one of the Mt Kosciuszko summit walk's, this walk from Eagles nest is around 13 km return trip...

The Chairlifts are not only for ski or hiking people to get on the mountain top, they also accommodate mountain bikes for a great ride back down and maybe do it all again as you can ride the lifts as many times as you like with a day pass...

Well worth the ride just for the views or to kick back at Eagles Nest Restaurant

Clearer instructions from staff would be helpful! not everyone has chairlift...

I hesitated to write this but now I can tell that this place is a scam. First, they told that we booked for 3 ppl, one with the wrong date ( last Monday) , which is impossible because we booked for 3 at the same time, they chargedus $25.

Second, we bought the whole day pass for $65. In the beginning, they told one of my friends to change his pants because it's not suitable , he went and bought a new one for $180. Then they allowed us to ride it, we spent almost an hour on the top of the mountain, then we returned to our apartment to take some rest and came back again at 3:20 pm. This time they told us we are not allowed to have another ride because our clothes are not suitable even though it is the same clothes that we wore the first time. When i told them that they didn't make any sense, they mentioned our shoes. I tried to explain to them that it's winter clothes and waterproof, and it is the same clothes. But they said we are not allowed. So basically, the ride is just for one time, and then you'll...

Worth the experience even if you don't progress to the summit walk. The chair is exposed to the cross winds as you ascent to the heights of Eagle Nest. Hopping on the chair lift in shorts and T-Shirt is tempting fate as the weather may look fine from the bottom but, half way up you will meet with the ice chilling wind without warning. If traveling with the little ones, well maybe reconsider this ride and go the Gondola ride. Your heart will be in your mount all the way up otherwise. Slipping off the seat at this age is totally conceivable. This is the longest and highest ski lift in Australia: Be prepared for the 15 minute ride that can be really enjoyable on a lovely day. Once up the top, remember its 15 minutes to get down so keep a close eye on the weather so you arrive back at Thredbo not looking like you stepped out of a freezer and feeling worse for wear. Apply plain logic and you will enjoy your day. The lift closes at 5pm, not 5.05pm but 5 pm. Miss the closure you have a down hill walk ahead of you.

The climb to the top of Australia is an amazing experience. The chairlift ride from Thredbo is pretty expensive, but a terrific experience in itself. If you like a small challenge and love wide open natural spaces, this hike is highly achievable and deeply fulfilling. Recommended for most as the pathway is ideal for walking. Lots of kids can make it too. There are slopes but nothing severe. Just gentle ramps on pretty even grades. Be careful though, it's only a short (12km) hike but the weather conditions up top are often dramatically different from the bottom of the Thredbo chair. I highly recommend you check this situation out as the result will have a significant difference to the enjoyment of your hike. I have a very proud 9 year old tonight!
