Pretty sure I have reviewed this fabulous park before. It is very close to home & has a spectacular amount of native flora. There was an old farm stead there which is now a community run centre, not 100% sure what goes on in there generally- but they have built a very good vegetable garden & I have seen some potters before. Not Harry Potter, but clay being made into anything fabulous. The playground is always packed on weekends, with space enough for many groups celebrating together. The best flying fox for younger kids I have ever seen. There is a large amount of water, with swans, turtles, ducks even saw a pelican one time. Seems to be a green algae (?) That has taken over alot of the water & I hope it isn't something that will destroy the wildlife. It is much loved so I am sure there is somebody looking into that. Around the whole park is a track . For jogging, strolling, a fast walk. Also many fitness related activities to get your heart racing that are in safe & good condition. B.B.Q's for your cookouts, a well kept block for ablutions. If you look high into the trees, there are small boxes, I assume for bats to do their thing in. This was my favourite part of this park to discover. There is alot more I'm sure of it. Great place as very many happy groups of friends each weekend proves. Also, a brilliant Carols by Candlelight each year if that is your thing....

Great suburban park with great amounts of nature play for growing kids. Great wildlife, birds, and sense of community around the area. Had my eldest daughter's first birthday here with an mini animal farm/petting zoo. CoSP were great to deal with albeit a pricey exercise just to get a gate unlocked for group activities. McDougall is perfect for informal family gatherings, with plenty of corners/areas around the park to use even on the busiest of days. We live locally, my girls love walking or riding here from home. The is all in working order and has a good amount of variety to amuse little ones. The only negative I can think of is lake does get quite low, but easily fills after...

Excellent park with public toilets suitable for family outings or picnics of reasonable size with lots of parking areas surrounding the park. Great for children as there are playground facilities under good shade for families with children. It has a beautiful lake with an island right in the middle, with lots of wildlife birds including black swans. It is well maintained with concrete walking paths encircling the scenic landscape, worth taking some time strolling in the coming...
