Located on the shores of Caroline Bay in East Gosford, the Gosford Regional Gallery is one of the Central Coast’s leading tourist attractions. It provides an important cultural and educational resource for the community as well as a one of the region’s great family attractions.

The one hectare facility is situated within 26 hectares of public reserve and incorporates: three exhibition spaces, the Edogawa Commemorative Garden, a gallery shop and onsite café. The adjacent art centre is available for hire and supports the practice of local artists with art classes, meeting spaces and the Community Gallery.

The gallery’s hosts a diverse program of local, national and international exhibitions. It regularly showcases a variety of styles in visual art, photography, sculpture and design, showcasing established and emerging artists, traditional, new and original work. Many significant touring exhibitions also come through Australia's extensive network of regional and national galleries.

The exhibitions are supported by a strong education and learning program which includes tours, practical workshops, demonstrations and term time art classes for both children and adults. An exciting series of family activities are also available during school holiday periods.

The gallery is open daily and admission into the full complex is free, with...

Beautiful Japanese Garden, from every angle it looks like a painting. The work that has been put into it is astronomical.

Just outside the gallery were displayed art work by year 11 and year 12 students. It was so impressive and awe-inspiring. My children and I loved it, exspecially the doll house by Amber Davies made with muscial instruments and highly tactile materials. It was wild and my kids loved it. They used ever ounce of will power not to touch it. It defiantly has inspired me to make something similar with my kids. Would be amazing to buy from the artists, they were all amazing. Thank you to the lady at the centre help desk for sharing her feelings about each work and then giving a booklet about the exhibition. It was so nice to share the excitement of the works together.

Inside the gallery, there were some gory ceramic figurines. Any sensible person knows what it was depicting. It was an upsetting moment that didn't need to happen, especially since I had little children with me. A 'mature content warning' would have been appreciated. Please consider the age of your audience.

Besides that, I really enjoyed the Japanese garden, the feeding of the koi, and the awe-inspiring work of the year 11 and 12. Please continue the...

With beautiful scenery and free entry, this is a great place to stop in at. The gallery was set out well and brought a sense of connection to the community.

The cafe was nothing special in terms of looks and I definitely expected more given everything else is so beautiful. I only bought coffee, so I cannot speak on the food. However, the coffee was well made. The lady who served me was lovely. Whilst I waited for the coffee to be made, I witnessed a different waitress be abrupt and a bit too demanding with customers. At one stage, she told someone they can't sit in a specific area if they only wanted tea/coffee as that was where people who each lunch sit.

The gardens were the start of the show for me. Everything was kept healthy and pruned. Being able to feed the fish/ducks was definitely a highlight.

The shop was quite nice as well, with a variety of things to purchase. The volunteers were lovely and happy to help. Everything was neat and clean.

There was ample car parking and wheelchair access. The pathways in the gardens are a little bit inconsistent (paving, jagged rocks, compacted dirt/sand, wood) but someone with a walker/wheelchair should manage just fine. Lots of seats throughout and a...

(3.5 stars) Up for the 2023 Coastal Twist Festival we were pleased to see you could take a queer eye to the Gosford Art Prize exhibition on at Gosford Regional Gallery and Edogawa Commemorative Garden until November 5. This exhibition of 146 pieces was curated from a pool of 948 entries from across Australia. Of the finalists, 40 per cent were from the Central Coast, and you could definitely see coastal theming with plenty of entries about fishing and swimming. While poor lighting choices and the too-close hang made it hard to take decent photos (go see the works in person) this lot jumped out at me. They include Wendy Bills, Jayanto Tan’s wood and ceramic piece poignantly titled, ‘The table of silence (the only gay in the village)’, Peter Smeeth, Jocelyn Maughan’s ‘My home, a fishing village’, Stuart Marlin, Shahroud Ghahani’s pigment on paper piece, Phil Meatchem and Paul Haggitt.
