Week out from Xmas and you would hardly know it was Xmas time at harbour town just about no decorations or Santa stuff The demographic here is way different to say tweed heads l took my dog as they are allowed here and walked all over nearly everyone was Arab Lebanese Asian Syrian the only Aussie l talked to was a barber when I got a buzz cut he agreed seems Aussies are not big fans of harbour town l looked for ages for the marina the barber said there is no harbour just a fountain in the shopping precinct... Hot humid this place is kinda outdoor walkways and the shops Are either side of the thoroughfare l tell ya it was so hot so humid all l wanted was air con As far as l was concerned l brought my dog a water bottle but there wasn't water or water fountains for people it was drink water or die from the heat. Personally harbour town was a big letdown for the travel to get there heaps of ethnic groups which is good but l like saying g'day these foreigners don't look happy to me and don't like dogs l don't recommend this place on a boiling hot summer day...
Read moreExcellent variety of retail stores! It's a H7GE place. 😲 And about 45 places to choose from to eat, or wet ones whistle. Reading Cinema too. 👍 Lots of parking, but be sure to know your earth, west, north or south direction to be able to find your car again! My first visit here, and it took me 10 mins to figure out where I had parked! 😂
Update May-25: what surprised me on my visit today was the lack of decent gift shops that stock nice knickknacks. Not trash. Nice, joyful things. All I needed was something to display on 2 small shelves in a bedroom. Something light, pretty. Perhaps some coral or beautiful shells, or a very small vase with real-looking artificial flowers. No such stores there I could find and I walked myself ragged. I ended up finding what I wanted at Runaway Bay.
Still, Harbourtown is handy for linen, crockery...
Read moreThis is a great shopping outlet but there is no shaded parking, and it's very uncomfortable getting into a hot car after a two or three hour shopping spree. It is however free, time unrestricted parking. It has a good variety of clothing and footwear stores, a Woolworths supermarket, a big fruit barn, and a good butchers shop. There are a couple of kitchenware shops in addition to a Lindt chocolate outlet. There is also an excellent selection of eateries which are clean and fresh, together with a an Asian Street food alleyway where you can eat in or takeaway. There are no chain stores such as Target, K-Mart, Choice Variety, and no fresh pastry stores apart from a Breadtop. It's a good idea to check what is available to avoid disappointment.
