I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an absolutely disgraceful experience my partner and I had at your establishment, 8 Street, specifically the restaurant ‘ichi ban ya’.
While attempting to enjoy a meal in peace, we were harassed in a deeply unsettling and unacceptable manner by a woman who was one of the shop owners or vendors operating within your premises.
This individual repeatedly circled our table in an aggressive and bizarre fashion, staring directly at us with an intensity that can only be described as disturbing. As if that wasn’t enough, she proceeded to deliberately point her phone camera at my partner’s face and take a photo of her—in what she very poorly attempted to disguise as a sneaky action. It was invasive, creepy, and completely unprovoked.
When confronted, she refused to open her phone, clearly aware she had been caught. Eventually, and only under pressure, she opened the phone and blatantly deleted the photo in front of our faces while simultaneously insisting that she never took one. The level of dishonesty was as pathetic as it was insulting.
This sort of behavior is not only invasive but borders on harassment. There is absolutely no excuse for it, and the only possible explanation is either a total lack of respect for customer privacy or some level of mental instability that makes her unfit to be interacting with the public.
You seriously need to vet who you allow to operate within your space. Customers should not have to worry about being secretly photographed or stalked while they eat.
I expect a proper explanation and confirmation that this individual has been fired and reprimanded accordingly. If this is the kind of conduct tolerated in your venue, I can assure you I—and many others—will be taking our...
Read moreHit or miss, a few dishes i tried were very mediocre. Not really authentic Asian food, and not cheap either for the small portions. It's handy for a quick meal before or after a movie/shopping. The pan fried dumplings and wonton soup shop is tasty. The noodle shop next to the bar is decent. The crispy pork roast is pretty good at the Chinese roast shop, i buy the meat separately cos with the rice bowls there's too much rice and barely any veggies which are cooked plain, so we buy $20 of roast meat then buy the fried rice and share between 2 ppl. The Filipino crispy pork knuckle is good to share. The okonomiyaki at the Japanese shop was truly awful, the Korean fried chicken was just ok, very fatty. My husband liked the Indian shop for the spicer curries, but I thought their butter chicken was too sweet and tasted like jar sauce.
For superior and more authentic Asian food you're better of heading over to the small "hole in the wall" eateries found scattered...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer in this shop ever since and I can't say enough good things about the food, the people and the service. Last night I ordered my fave Pad thai and as always I enjoyed every meal I had. However, the customer before me came back to the counter to asked for a knife. The shop don't have any so he requested for a refund! Really dude?? Most Asian shops normally would only have chopsticks, spoon and fork (in case he doesn't know). He then talked about the consumer law, etc. and I just had to laugh it off in my head because clearly the guy was a total jerk. I felt sorry for the team and the business owners for people not taking responsibility of the food they ordered. I would have completely understand if the food taste awful or something's in it. But his main concern was because there's no knife??? C'mon. Leave the shop alone. They're one of, if not the...
