We recently played a round at this course with four golfers, including two overseas guests we had invited for business purposes. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and concerning enough that we feel compelled to share it.
Despite having an earlier tee time, we found that a group of what appeared to be residents or members began playing ahead of us. This caused delays, but we remained patient and followed proper golf etiquette by waiting for the group in front of us to clear before taking our shots.
However, while we were waiting at the tee box—two of our guests still standing in position—a member from the group behind us suddenly walked into our tee box and hit their ball without warning. This happened while we were preparing to take our own shots, creating a highly dangerous and completely inappropriate situation.
We explained that we were delayed because we were waiting on the group ahead, as per standard golf rules. The person who hit into us responded dismissively, saying, “I’ve been waiting too long,” showing no regard for the safety of others or the rules of the game. While one member of their group did come and apologise—which we appreciated—the individual responsible for the incident simply walked away without any acknowledgment of the danger or disrespect caused.
We reported the matter to the office, but no further action has been taken to date.
This experience left us with the impression that this course prioritises members and residents over guest safety and public etiquette. Unfortunately, it’s clear this is not a welcoming environment for business or public players. We will not be returning for any future business rounds and cannot recommend it to others looking for a respectful and professionally run...
Read more5 Stars – The Glades is Gold Coast Golf at Its Finest
The Glades Golf Course is an absolute standout—arguably one of the best public-access courses in Queensland. Designed by Greg Norman, and you can feel that pedigree from the first tee to the final putt. It’s the perfect mix of beauty, challenge, and playability.
The fairways are lush, the greens are slick and true, and the course layout keeps you thinking on every hole. There’s water in play just enough to make things interesting, and the bunkering is classic Norman—strategic and punishing if you get lazy with your line.
What really sets The Glades apart, though, is how well kept the whole place is. For a public course, the conditioning is elite. Combine that with stunning Gold Coast views and you’ve got a course that feels high-end without the stuffiness.
The clubhouse is sleek and welcoming, the range is solid, and it’s the kind of place where you walk off 18 already planning your next round.
Safe to say, The Glades is a must-play—and very much on the radar for a future Luxi Golf event. If you’re after a round that’s as scenic as it is satisfying, you won’t regret...
Read moreThe only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because they have a driving range and practice area. Otherwise, pretty much everything here is sub par. There's hardly any parking at all. Wich is insane. I've spent countless minutes circling around asking people if they're leaving, only to be rejected everytime as people like to finish a round, put their clubs in the car and then go have beers and lunch. To have to drive around the carpark and harass these fine gentlemen is absurd. But what's more outrageous, aside from the overpriced golf...(i won't go there this time) is the condition of the course. Shabby and ragged with the worste greens on the entire Gold Coast. I don't know what it is about the Glades but the greens there are like the moons surface. Craters, pits, chasms and pot holes everywhere. Its as if they have no greenkeepers. Like, atleast have signage or encourage people at the pro shop to repair pitch marks and fill divots etc. The course is just another Norman neglected bush walk. Yet with a prestigious price tag. Shame tho, course has lots of potential. But y'all need more carparks and...
