Advice to prospective buyers:

Spray your bare root nectarines/beach for leaf curl before bud burst!!!

Edit 2: the garden centre recognised it was a particularly bad case after seeing photos, and offered a suitable outcome.

Guildford Garden Centre does not consider widespread leaf curl on a nectarine tree bought bare root on its first leaves 2 months after purchase a condition for refund or replacement. Do with that as you will.

EDIT 1 following response from owner, 17/09: email sent to info@guildfordgardencentre.com.au on 07/09 at 16:50, including 4 photos. In absence of response, followed up with a call on 13/09 at 4:14pm, during which a (female) staff relatively condescendingly told me with no room for discussion that this was not cause for the warranty to apply. I am relatively familiar with leaf curl (caused by a fungus not a "bug"), usually treated with copper solution. I have used Kocide Blue Xtra in the concentration recommended on the pack pre and post bud burst on a peach I have elsewhere (in a different location, no cross contamination there), which barely keeps it in check but does not eliminate it. I now had to remove all affected leaves (95% of foliage) of this new nectarine, including whole new green branch shoots, and had to cut off branches that had suffered die back as a result of how bad it is affected. Had I known a tree could come out of the nursery in that state, I would have sprayed it preventatively, for the good that it does...gutted as it had a great structure...

Customer service is appalling at the Guildford Garden Centre! I ordered 4 plants online and when they arrived only one was really healthy - sunshine burst. When I emailed to ask if I could exchange or return or tell me how I can rectify the situation (a week later - my fault for not calling earlier), Joanne from Guildford, must have been having a bad day, she was extremely hostile, snarky and defensive. Worst experience I’ve had with ordering plants! Plants sold on Facebook were much healthier than what was delivered. Please take pics before sending them out. It’s not nice to speak and treat your customers like that, check your attitude at the door. Buy from Facebook market place, you’ll never get...

We went shopping for 2 trees for our small garden and had a great experience. Kelly was wonderful , she was super friendly and asked us questions about our location, height required, deciduous/non-deciduous etc. and within a few minutes was able to suggest a couple of trees that would suit us - this would have taken me hours online! She explained why some of the trees we asked about would not be suitable for our garden - this was invaluable advice. Kelly showed us the different trees and provided lots of information about each of them such that we were able to make a decision very quickly. We were very happy with our purchase, the selection of trees and...

Quaint nursery located next to the rail road. They have a impressive variety of plants, and their quality is outstanding. Very friendly knowledgeable crew that work there. I never leave with what was on my list there is always something extra. Their Bush tucker has a great selection. Here is a Rosella used for salads and tea
