Cascade Hotel & Holiday Units — Attraction in Hobart

I stayed in a hotel unit behind the main hotel. I chose this for convenience as my husband was in the hospital next door and was the only good thing about staying here. The accommodation was atrocious and I would not recommend it to anyone. The bathroom smelt mouldy and between the basin and bath the lino was peeling and the wood was black with mould , there was used cotton bud on the floor and the shower was held up with string. The lounge suite was covered with a stretchy covering and upon straightening the cover there was black pieces falling on the floor. This turned out to be the vinyl beneath the cover, almost all of which had peeled from the suite. The dining table had huge hunks out of it, there were bare and broken light globes above the bed, dodgy light switches, sheets were laundered but covered in fluff and what looked like spots of oil on the pillow slips. The pillows were so old and worn I was thankful I had at least taken my own pillow with me. I didn’t cook on the hot plates as the vent above was so filthy I was worried something would fall in my food. It was my first time in a long while here and I had never eaten here before.||||The dining room has a good reputation and it didn't disappoint!||||Whilst the room was full of Melbourne Cup day diners and the Bar was very busy the service was still very good. It is an efficiently run organisation which means yo get the Menu explained and for the numbers dining the serving of meals was much quicker than I imagined. ||||I chose the African Chicken and My two companions either side had the Fisherman's Basket and the Duck. All meals were of a very generous size too much so you need to be Hungry and that's a great recommendation for this local Hotel.||||||We washed the meals down with a couple of local beers and shared a bottle of French Pinot which was very reasonably priced at $23.||||||I highly recommend this place where you can get a quality meal with a generous serve matched by...
