Wow, what a vast difference from my last visit, experience, & 5 star review I left. Booking an early 8am table a week in advance, as we had a busy morning ahead & being first customers to arrive on opening, we were greeted offhandedly by male wait staff with an accent & unfortunately seated in the far back corner right next to the toilets & our coffee orders taken. Coffees came out, & we ordered our breakfast with a different waitress ( who didn't write them down). After waiting more than half an hour later, the same waitress comes back to our table to tell us the kitchen has lost our order docket ( none was written down to begin with ) & they need to confirm the orders again to begin the cooking. Orders again confirmed,& about 15 minutes later, the waitress returns with our plates. The potato ham hock benedict I ordered & received was luke warm and even cold in parts with a potato segment that had turned brown & didn't seem freshly prepared, floating in a stock that was cold, as were the poached eggs. The other dish we ordered, the tofu rice bowl, was clearly rushed out of the kitchen as the tofu wasn't crunchy at all. Not wanting to be delayed any further by returning the meals to the kitchen, we continued to eat them,& they weren't great at all. The waitress who took our order returned & asked how was the Benedict was, in which I replied '"okay but unfortunately, cold & after waiting initially we were disappointed with the meal." The waitress said she would pass this onto the kitchen, & there was hardly an apology given for the initial mix up or quality of the food received. When I went up to pay, I walked past the waitress who didn't acknowledge us, & the initial waiter was at the register & after asking where we were seated and asked how the meals were. " We were up near the toilet where you decided to stick us and the meals were not great," I replied. He then looked blankly at me & didn't respond & just finished the payment. He then wished me a good weekend. I then said to him, " Did you even hear my answer to your question? " He replied, " I thought you said all great." I replied, "No, far from it, it was not great." Again, no apology was given. Having since read some recent reviews, I see that this place has dropped the ball of late big time, & the service isn't wonderful. Mistakes happen, I understand that, however, having staff not interested or invested in customer service & satisfaction is disturbing. If Bear With Me wishes to charge near $30 for the majority of their breakfast items, then at least get it to the tables hot & on time by staff who care about customers. Sadly, I will not return after this experience nor recommend any more. Plenty of places that do get it right every...
Read moreNever have any problem with their services before.
However, yesterday I came with a friend and the waiter was extremely rude and we did leave the cafe immediately. JUST SO YOU KNOW, I NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE A PLACE BECAUSE OF BAD SERVICE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER IN MY LIFE.
The attitude was very unprofessional and not welcoming at all.
We did not want to sit at the high table asked him if we could change the seat, and he said only 1 word to my face “no”, throw the menu on the table and just walked away. His attitude made us think like “either you sit where I told you or just leave, we were busy enough and did not need more customers”!!!!
Very disappointed!
If you have talked to your staff and believed in whatever you staff said and responded back to me that way saying it is my misunderstanding then it is up to you and good luck to your cafe as well. 👏🏻👍🏻
At the very first step when we arrived at your cafe, he already offered us very unwelcoming attitude.
To make it clearer I will add more detail. I will also tell all of my friends not coming to your cafe anymore. Not only staff but also the owner does not know what is so-called “customer service” in this hospitality industry. And Hobart is very small. Words travel fast.
We did not want to sit at the high table asked him if we could change the seat, and he said only 1 word to my face “no”, throw the menu on the table and just walked away. Then I was very upset and angry with that attitude. I walked to him and asked “excuse me! what did you just say”. He said “no”. You are only 2 people and u cant sit at the big table.
Excuse me!!! You cant just reply your customer that way. Do you need me to offer a free training course in customer service for your staff, especially to that particular guy???
In stead of Said NO to the face of your customers like that, walked away and let your customers got angry with your attitude. He could have done and said much better things. Explain more politely or act nicer.
WOW!!!! What a response...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bear with me cafe, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and inviting atmosphere of the cafe. The decor was stylish and modern, yet still managed to retain a warm and welcoming feel.
As I took my seat, I was greeted by a friendly server who promptly brought me a menu and asked if I would like something to drink. I decided on a mocha, and I have to say, it was one of the best I have ever had. The coffee was rich and full-bodied, and the chocolate added just the right amount of sweetness.
As for the food, I opted for the poached eggs on sourdough with bacon, and it did not disappoint. The eggs were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of yolk, and the bacon was crispy and flavorful. The sourdough bread was also delicious, and I appreciated that it was toasted to the perfect level of crunch.
Overall, my experience at Bear with me cafe was truly excellent. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great meal in a relaxed setting. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or just a cup of coffee, Bear with me cafe has...
