I'm going to be telling you the best places to go in the next few week before I leave Darwin #fishandchips #darwin #supportlocal

A good marina tucked in behind Fannie Bay. It's an extensive area with shops and plenty of restaurants as well as apartments. The marina appears to be well kept. If you are sailing into the marina, you will need to call ahead to ensure they have space for your yacht. Plus, you will need to enter via a lock. If you miss the lock hours, it's easy to moor in the bay or near the channel. I'm not sure about yachty facilities as I didn't need to use them. I would suggest they need to sort out their rubbish disposal options. There are lots of dining options, and it's a great spot to go and watch the sunset on the grassy bank above the beach.

Still a good place to visit but challenged by the more vibrant waterfront area which did not exist when Cullen Bay was created. That said, some good restaurants and Lola's bar which is always busy. A newcomer Fin & Tonic is terrific and still serves takeaway fish and chipsor dine in. If you nothing else bring some chairs, wine and have fish and chips on the lawn as the sun goes down.

Cullen Bay Marina, 8 Weeks Well Spent

Gabrielle was an absolute superstar. She consistently went above and beyond always happy to help, receiving our parts packages, keeping us in the loop, and making us feel welcome and at home. The marina staff and the lockmaster were just as friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We spent 8 weeks here while waiting on upgrades and parts, and genuinely enjoyed our time. From chatting with local business owners to digging into beers and parmigianas at Lola’s and topping off our nights with ice cream, it was a great place to be based.

Thanks to the whole team for making it feel like...

As a passing thru Yachtie Cullen Bay Marina is a great facility, at $60/night expensive, but worth it for the facilities offered. However what really gets me and is a big incentive not to go back is the $290 fee for using the lock. I found it hard to swallow when the administrator, known I was only going to use it once, assured me that I could use it again anytime that year! Yea, I must sail back to Darwin from Perth to use...
