I've got a photo of my father from W11 that has to be seen to believe...he was part of the silent 7th...my father also knew John Basilone...they both trained in the middle East before WW11 broke out...if you would like to see the photo please don't hesitate to contact me...as for my history...have you heard of the commando s1 unit in Sydney...strike swiftly...I was also asked to help out with the strathfield massacre in 1991 ..federal police...I've moved to maryborough from kin kin...no your history folks...while I'm giving everyone in maryborough a history lesson...my Mother was Sylvia Raphael, Mossad...I can give you some lost photos my mother took in Melbourne 1975...she was just released from prison in Norway...no your history...especially when it comes to me...

I made the above statement before my visit yesterday...I walked in the door and said...I've got something that you need to see...my father's ww11 Badge...after looking around the museum a Gentleman said come down the back let's look up your Dad's records from ww11...First up 1976 Max claimed that he lost his Badge when moving from Melbourne to Queensland...no I didn't steal his Badge...in 1976 Max and Sylvia had a secret...im there secret...Best day I've had in a long...

Set in an historic building this museum would be the best private museum I've had the pleasure of visiting & will certainly be returning. The curators have done an excellent job in assembling and displaying the myriad of items from the Australian military conflicts from the Boer war to current Afganistan conflict. It is obvious that a much larger site needs to be sought to enable expansion of more artifacts/ information thus allowing these items to be comfortably viewed. Sub standard lighting made it difficult to read and see some items. It is also a shame that no mention of the suffering of Prisoner of War (POW) gets a mention anywhere. I feel that this is an area of conflict that must be recognized and inform visitors as to another facit of military campaigns. Lest we forget does not apply to throes who...

Extremely varied, inclusive and well preserved displays. Friendly veteran staff who were knowledgeable and helpful. The whole area was well presented, full of information, housed in a historic precinct and building. The 'bunker' experience was surreal, with sounds that, for a civilian, hinted at what it may have been like in the trenches. An enormous display of medals, weaponry and interest facts. You need time, patience and a few return visits to fully absorb what is an enriching, educational and engaging homage to the service men and women past and present. Thank you all for...

Ok to be upfront, I am an retired RSM with 33 years service in the RAAC and this place has 2 spectacular displays for a couple of comrades I served with but that said this musuem has some of the finest displays in this country. It is worth the price of admission and if you like to read then allow time. All the displays have wonderful information cards to explain what's being shown. Listen by second to none I include the AWM in canberra in that comparison. Don't dawdle, if the partner is not into it, send em on a town tour while you Do yourself a favour

We visited the Maryborough Military & Colonial Museum on the weekend and were pleasantly surprised to find it almost empty. It appears to be run by volunteers, including a lovely old lady and a man who provided us with a wealth of information about the war exhibits. The museum is definitely worth a visit for history enthusiasts. The volunteers' dedication and the informative experience made our visit memorable and enjoyable.

f you are a war history enthusiast like me, you will be enthralled by the sheer amount and variety, of military memorabilia, on show here. Displays are carefully presented over multiple levels and cover a number of military conflicts and campaigns that we Aussies were involved in over many years and theaters. The staff were full of useful knowledge and welcoming energy, too.
