Called into this coffee shop whilst in Maryborough. Ordered a long black and flat white coffee. Unfortunately the flat white was a mug of froth with little or no coffee in it. My wife took it back and the young lady then made a proper flat white instead of allowing the young guy to make another one. My long black in a mug should have been two shots but again, that was not the case. Same young guy. Same bad result. When we left we did notice the young lady teaching the young guy something at the coffee machine, which I am assuming means the young guy is learning. That’s great but watch over him while he is learning so the right coffee is sold to your customers. And on that, why does a long black cost the same as a flat white, given no expensive milk is used in the long black. At $5:50 per drink, it’s pricy and not very well proportioned insofar as pricing goes. Fix up these things and we may come back. (By the way, one guy reading the newspaper from front to back after he consumed his coffee at the large round table and when asked, refused to allow us to sit at the table, needs to be addressed. Just plain...
Read moreMay partner and I had lunch at this lovely little cafe. Some small details of the dining environment can use some improvement, especially menu - the printed one was a bit blurry, and the one on big screen was not easy enough to read. Overall a pleasant meal, staffs were very friendly.
Egg Benny: definitely would recommend. Love the idea of being able to choose one for $8 or two for $16. Perfect for little cravings. Can use a touch more acidity in hollandaise sauce, but the cook on egg itself is spot on!
My partner ordered a burger and banana coffee smoothie. Burger was pretty good - the taste of patty is not overpowered by other components, cook is spot on. Chips that came with burger was a big disappointment though. Soggy and undercooked.
The smoothie tasted like a forced marriage of coffee and mashed banana, although coffee itself...
Read moreWe were first timers at 🕊 "Cockatoo Cafe" 🕊 today. We arrived at 10.30a.m. for a 'mugga' between appointments. A busy spot today, enjoyable atmosphere. We chose something savoury from the show case, that they had just sold through on. Without hesitation the more mature lady advised they were hand made, and she could make a fresh two for us. In no time at all we were thoroughly enjoying a perfect texture & flavoured, bacon & egg muffin (as they called it) served with baby spinach. Straight from the oven like: 'Grandma Used To Make'... ....PERFECT!!!! Reasonably priced under $24 with 2 mugs of coffee, couldn't better this we thought. Thankyou. P.S.Hopefully you will try and enjoy,...
