My daughter and I recently went back to 1000 Steps Cafe and had a lovely time catching up with a friend. The weather was idyllic and also the scenery. Lots of people enjoying getting some exercise and some, like my daughter and I, just enjoying a coffee. The birds are really lovely but I must warn you about the kookaburras! There was one particular kookaburra that got too close for comfort. It tried to snatch some food from one woman's hand, unsuccessfully, then a few minutes later swooped down and snatched a man's hamburger right out of his hands. It took it's prize off to a tree close by where it was joined by two another kookaburras. Rather entertaining but really not very good behaviour. The food and service at the Cafe is very good, they even gave the man who lost his hamburger a replacement. I highly recommend a visit, we will definitely be going back soon.

Good to walking up stairs and running down side way. Bathroom on the top and bottom the hill. Moderate but short trail. Only takes around two hours. Walking in the forest, sunlight caressing my hair. The bustling woods, busy birds, a leisurely pace of life.

Great place to improve your strength and stamina by climbing up this hill which is 275 m to elevation in total from the car park to the summit
