A great shopping centre with plenty of free parking (2-3 hours) - especially down stairs on the 2 lower level where there’s always lots of space. Kmart, Aldi, Fitness Anytime gym (which is open 24 hours), and many other stores are available. Two free electric car charging station can be used for as long as you wish and are located in the car park on P2 of the Kmart Mall. A car wash is also available at a reasonable cost while you shop. Wheelchair access is easy with wide walkways, flat esculations and ramps. Toilet facilities are quite neat and tidy. Good access to Coles across Homer street via pedestrian crossing on the North entrance, and on the south entrance you can access Puckle street quickly. Free WiFi for 180 minutes, and a kids corner with play equipment.

I recently used this car wash and was quite disappointed with the parking policy. Despite paying for the car wash, I was charged a $5 parking fee for exceeding the free parking duration by just a few minutes. This feels unfair—customers who spend money on the car wash should be given more leniency with parking time. On top of that, the card surcharge of over 2% is unreasonably high, forcing me to spend extra time getting cash to avoid it. Extending the free parking duration for paying customers and abolishing the card surcharge would greatly improve the overall experience and make it more customer-friendly.

Moonee Ponds Central is a vibrant shopping centre, offering a convenient and diverse retail experience. It features major retailers such as Coles and Kmart, alongside a variety of specialty stores including cafes, bakeries, eateries, salons, and crockery shops. Surrounding the centre are additional dining options, including a nearby Subway and several local cafes, adding to the area’s lively atmosphere. The centre provides free parking for up to two hours on both the ground level and Level 1, making it easily accessible for shoppers.

Moonee Ponds Central is local to me and I often frequent the centre due to K-Mart which is open late making it very handy. If you are new to town it is worth checking out K-Mart. Also just outside K-Mart there is a kids activity playground which is fantastic. My kids (ages 3 a 2) love it and I often visit the centre on a cold and rainy day so the kids can have a play and I can do some shopping.

The shopping centre has Aldi, Coles, Deli and Fruit and Vegetable shops for my at home necessities. There are some great speciality independent stores where you can pickup something different.

Also there is access to the famous Puckle Street Prescient which gives you plenty of shops and is a short walk to Queens Park if you want to sit and relax in a picturesque park.

I do find the layout of the shopping centre like a maze with its 3 different buildings though this makes it a adventure in itself. There is lots of development going on at the moment so traffic during the day isn't fun.

It is a shopping centre worth coming to and spending the day around the area. There is lots of onsite parking in lots of different sections (do research where you want to park beforehand). Another recommendation would be to come by train and get off at Moonee Ponds station or travel by...

Moonee Ponds Central is a decent shopping centre, but the problem is that the parking there is very restrictive. Two hours of free parking is provided, but you really can't achieve much in two hours except visit one shop or restaurant and leave. Why can't it be three hours like most other suburban malls (or have a system where if you spend a certain amount within the centre, you can stay longer)? On multiple occasions, I have cut my visit short to avoid the parking costs. I would definitely spend more money at the centre if I could stay without paying for it. Today I was really exasperated because I had to pay for parking because I got caught in a traffic jam in the Aldi carpark, meaning I was maybe 30 seconds late out the gate (I had a countdown timer set on my phone). I feel there should be like a few minute grace period here for people who start their timers slightly later than the gate, or get stuck in the unpredictable carpark congestion. I know technically they don't have to have this, according to their rules, but it just means that I will have to cut my visit even shorter to account for congestion and won't stay at Moonee Ponds Central for more than ~1:40. This is not only bad for their customers, but for...
