Phoenix Park Playground is wonderful! The large wooden fortress-like structures provide plenty for the kids to explore, accessible enough for kids aged 2-3 to play independently, but challenging and exciting enough to keep older kids entertained for hours. The ~5ft fence on all sides means parents can relax on the many benches and picnic tables surrounding the play area. The playground surface is deep tan bark too, so even tumbles from a few feet up will be quickly brushed off before play resumes...
Parking is plentiful, and there is a nice little café where you can get decent coffee served by a rather sour-faced, joyless woman. There are a few slides, not very big, but the all differ in length and shape. The best thing about this playground is the swings! They have two parts of the playground with swings and for me, having two girls under the age of four there are two 'baby' swings next to each other, in addition to another baby swing and 'big girl' swing right next to them too...this may not sound like a big thing but when you don't have to compromise or have children fighting over who gets which swing, it's great!
