Unfortunately I had a disappointing dinner at TGIF last Saturday night. Myself & four friends went here for a few drinks and something to eat. We all ordered burgers, all different to each other and two of us ordered thick chips. We were asked if ordering on the app was okay for us and we had no issues. Until they brought out our food. 2 burgers came out first & they were okay, last 2 burgers came out and they were wrong. I asked the lady what burgers were they as we ordered different to each other and she had no idea. Just from looking at the burger it looked wrong to myself, 1 had no bacon & the other had no sauce. They were both just plain burgers with tomato and lettuce. The girl left and the supervisor came over and asked me what was wrong. I said they both aren’t what we ordered and she took them away with no issues advising us she would remake straight away. She came back moments later asking me what was wrong with the burgers, after mentioning multiple times, I said one didn’t have bacon which was in the name of the burger (Fridays bacon cheeseburger) and the other one had no ingredients to what was on the menu besides the basics(Signature Whiskey Glaze Single Stack Burger) She then explained they were both basic burgers anyway. Not accepting that they were both either missing ingredients or just wrong. We then received the burgers which came out with thin chips (even thought we paid for thick chips) and my burger was red raw. We both asked for well done. Photo attached I went up to the bar and asked someone to come over to my table which the guy who did was great! Lachlan I believe his name was. He apologised and couldn’t believe it either. He gave us a round of drinks and tried to turn our night around. Unfortunately the supervisor didn’t come over to apologise or acknowledge the situation. I asked for a full refund on my meal which was agreed as I wasn’t waiting again for the third burger, this is yet to be received and the accounts team have not returned my call. The other issue we had, we all ordered starters and they came out after our mains. I will not...
Read moreI rarely give such low ratings in reviews but this is deserved.
I went yesterday with my family of four. We haven’t been in years since they went from fun and quirky to this modern look they’re going for so we thought we’d try it out.
The kids ate for free which was great, they both had a bowl of pasta from the kids menu, my husband and I shared a main calamari for $33, and got an appetiser tower which had 3 prawn, a handful of chicken bites, a few chicken wings and 4 mozzarella sticks $38 and 4 soda waters $24.
I paid $95 for everything being fried. There was a little bit of salad with the calamari, but besides that it was all thrown into the deep fryer.
I understand that Chadstone has high rent, and their staff costs as well, however the staff don’t even come to your table to take your order. You have to do it on a QR code or you walk up to the bar and order yourself. On top of that we have eaten at pretty much most of the restaurants in Chadstone and if we’re paying that amount of money there is definitely going to be something more substantial than fried food.
I also understand that there is an inflation going on, we have two restaurants and a burger shop. I know how much things cost from wholesale retailers, and the markups on these prices are absolutely ridiculous and considering that the main meals which are freshly made at restaurants throughout the centre are significantly cheaper, I’m gonna take a wild guess that TGIS is a tad greedy. Even the drinks being $6 when they were simply post mix is insane to me. And it was SODA WATER!
We actually said that had we have gone to McDonald’s and spent $40 on a dinner box we would’ve eaten better than what we had yesterday.
If you’re on a budget or simply don’t want to spend $40 for something that’s hit a deep fryer for a couple of minutes before being served on a plate please go elsewhere.
It’s actually so sad that TGIS has gotten to this point because I remember going there every week about 10 years ago when they had a pretty decent menu and I...
Read moreThe food was nice but there is plenty of room for improvement in customer service. We interacted with at least 3 staff members and they were all very dismissive. We asked about the Thursday offer, they said it was available, we ordered the food and when we went to pay they said we had to pay full price. We were confused as we had asked about the offer when we ordered the food, and when we asked for clarification they asked if we were members. We said we weren't and they said offer was only for members so we needed to pay full price. The guy treated us like it was too late to sign up then, and when we mentioned it would have been nice if someone mentioned it before he said we should have read it somewhere. He never apologised for the confusion and never offered a solution. We mentioned we didn't know that and asked if we could become members there, and only then the guy reluctantly said we could. We signed up to become members and ended up paying the offer price. It wasn't a big deal to sign up for the membership but for some reason they behaved like it was our job to be aware of the terms when nobody mentioned it before, nobody asked if we would like to become members and the table we sat at did not have a QR code or any information about it whatsoever. As someone that has worked in customer service and hospitality before, I can say this place could use some staff training. No team should have so many people dismissing customers and/or making them feel incompetent for not knowing about a membership. It would have been so easy if they simply said "it's this much but if you become a member you can enjoy our special offer. Would you like to become a member? It's free", and we would have joined happily. It was his job to promote the offer and the membership, not ours. Such a poor service. We are very disappointed and we will not be recommending this TGI Fridays to our friends, which is a shame because the...
