A Culinary Adventure Best Left Uncharted
As an intrepid gastronome, I'm always on the hunt for unforgettable dining experiences, and my recent sojourn to this restaurant was, regrettably, quite memorable – for all the wrong reasons.
The evening began with a chicken schnitzel, a dish whose potential was sadly marred by overcooking and a minuscule portion size. A timid dollop of coleslaw, which bore an uncanny resemblance to petrol in both taste and aroma, left me questioning whether the kitchen had confused the condiments for combustibles. The side of chips had likewise succumbed to the ravages of overcooking, while a desiccated lemon wedge seemed to have been exiled to the refrigerator for an eternity.
My wife's salmon fared no better – dry, lifeless, and devoid of the promised lemon. The accompanying potato salad, which tasted uncannily like the infamous childhood adhesive, Clag, offered no salvation. A curious side of what appeared to be baba ghanouj, but utterly bereft of flavor, completed this ill-fated culinary escapade.
The ambiance did little to compensate for the food, as the cacophony of noise rendered conversation a Herculean task. Service meandered at a snail's pace, and though the days of Covid are behind us, patrons were left to fend for themselves with QR codes and bar orders.
The lack of side salad or vegetable options beyond potatoes felt like a missed opportunity, leaving diners with a dishearteningly monochromatic meal. The only saving grace was a rather pleasant lager, which provided some solace amidst the gastronomic chaos.
In a spirit of optimism, we decided to give the restaurant a second chance by ordering dessert. However, our hopes were dashed when we were handed menus at 9:20 pm and informed that the kitchen would close in a mere 10 minutes. This left us with little time to contemplate our options, let alone savor a sweet reprieve from the earlier disappointments.
Our bill came to a surprisingly reasonable $90 for two main courses, a glass of wine, and a beer. However, the quality of the food did little to justify the cost. It was disheartening to observe other diners similarly suffering as their meals arrived independently, leaving one partner to awkwardly await their meal while the other's grew cold.
In the end, this dining experience was an expedition into the culinary wilderness, a journey best left untraveled. With a heavy heart and a still-rumbling stomach, I must advise fellow gastronauts to seek...
Read moreExtremely disappointed in the experience I had at this restaurant.
Staff member sat us down stating “ask a waiter for water”. I think in this day and age water upon seating your guest is expected but I was proven wrong.
Was ordering food and before even placing the order was told there was going to be a 20-30min wait to receive our food. Ordered 3 meals, pizza, fish and chips and a burger.
Waited what seemed to be over 30mins to receive a burger that tasted like it was frozen and had the texture of beef jerky. Fish and chips looked the part but my partner ate that and said it was nothing to rave about. These two items come out together but still no sight of our pizza we had ordered.
After consuming both fish and chips and burger the pizza had finally arrived to the table. Meaning the pizza took over an hour to reach our plates! This pizza was the saddest pizza I have ever consumed. No flavour, sloppy and was on a flat bread type base.
Due to the pizza arriving an hour after ordering it and already consuming our other meals the pizza wasn’t eaten, my partner went up to the bar to ask for a takeaway container staff members who where speaking to what seemed to be their friends (as their treatment when they arrived was completely different to ours) were completely ignoring my partner and she had to wait for someone to finally ask if she needed help.
The container arrived to our table with water in it almost like it was washed from having something in it previously to where I no longer even wanted to take this pizza away. Mind you the container even smelt like food when they handed it to us.
Worst experience I have ever received and very basic food that isn’t even worth paying for. $97 for 3 items and not one of them was worth anywhere near what they charge you. If I could get a refund I would.
Would highly suggest staying away from here and putting your money elsewhere in the centre as there’s a lot better places to eat with better service, better prices and better food.
Extremely disappointed and would love a refund if it...
Read moreWe walked around the new social quarter in Chadstone and decided to have dinner at UA Brewing Co. We didn’t have any reservations, but walk- ins were alright. My partner and I were initially seated at table 7, it was an intimate space seated outside, we didn’t mind it but thought maybe we might need a bigger table? But looking at the place, it was packed and busy so we we’re fine. Linda (manager) approached us and offered us a bigger space so we could enjoy our meal better. I was impressed with the staffs work ethics and restaurant culture as they were attentive, approachable and kind people. Since we changed tables, our food order seating needed to be updated, so the staff will bring the food orders to the new seated table. There was a bit of a wait that was probably due to their chefs’ attention to details regarding the steak’s temperature that needed to be right! Whilst waiting, the staffs and Linda in particular were constantly informing us about how long our food will be. Empathy and good customer experience were clearly the top priority for their patrons. Linda spoke to us and reassured us about our food wait time, she was so kind to offer voucher so we felt so taken cared for and I genuinely appreciate the kindhearted gesture. As for the food and quality, I can honestly say it was really worth the wait. The ambiance and seating were good, and their customer care was impressive. Overall, I would highly recommend UA Brewery Co and definitely will come back and bring family and friends- due to their attention to details (customer’s needs, food quality and presentation), their reasonable prices of their food and drinks’, good food quality & quantity, and most of all, the empathetic care and quality customer service led by Linda! It was the best dinner decision we made that night to dine at that place. Compliments to the chef, to Linda and all the staff of UA Brewery Co.Well done and keep it...
