Westernport Marina — Attraction in Melbourne

I hope I’ve got the right place because I would hate to shame another business for the absolute disgusting taste I have in mouth from this place. Westernport Marina, your reviews do not match your disgraceful standard. I am horrified by the service, or lack of, that I received today when I came in for lunch. I came in alone, waited at least 10 minutes to be seated when there were clearly free tables. Maybe I should have seated myself?! A waiter, and I wish I got his name so I could point him out, came to seat me without a hello, how many are with you today, would you like some water, can I get you a drink to start with… nothing at all. I was simply told that food will be a 30 minute wait, to which I accepted willingly. I was seated at a dirty table that never got cleaned, I never got the water I asked for at least twice, and was never asked if I wanted to order a meal. I did however, get asked if I’d like a coffee to which I took up approximately 10 minutes after being seated. When the coffee came out, I once again was not asked to order food. I waited 30 minutes before getting a little upset by the lack of functionality in this place. Upon saying excuse me to the waiter, he rolled his eyes as he turned back to me. This was my very last straw!! I proceeded to point out that I was going to ask to order but with his seriously poor attitude and the fact I’d been waiting half an hour, I will not be doing that. Now, I was happy to wait for food but I certainly was not prepared to sit around waiting for service that evidently lacked, to only get an eye roll when I raised some questions. He continued to brush off my concerns and then told me that it’s best I leave as I will continue to wait for food and he clearly was not prepared to take my order.

I walked out without paying for my coffee as I blatantly refuse to give money to a business who acquires staff as poor as this. Having worked many years in hospitality (both BOH & FOH), I understand the ins and outs of how they run and how customer service should be, even if you are run off your feet (to which they definitely were NOT!) and this is a polar opposite example of that!

To Westernport Marina, I highly recommend you do something to improve this, and to all readers, I suggest you find an alternative...

Undergoing outside work (why?) around the Marina which effectively prevents hobby photographers like me from from enjoying the Marina. Council employees were extremely unpleasant and resorted to intimidation in an attempt to prevent entry to a poorly signposted 'construction site'. As a 76 year old veteran with a terminal illness I must say the atitude exhibited by these 'employees' smacks of the small minded and totally illmanered approach of this...

An older facility that has been well maintained. It is used by both private and commercial vessels. There is a good level of security with key only access to the pens. Large number of pens, all of them able to accommodate at least 10m vessels. There is plenty of off-site car parking. Also, other services are located nearby. No toilets, not wheel...
