Yarra Ranges Regional Museum — Attraction in Melbourne

We love visiting the gallery & museum in Lilydale. The ongoing exhibitions are always a hit with the kids who love to learn about their local history. The temporary exhibitions are vast, engaging and often very informative! We loved the Bec Opin exhibition which was such a kid-focused exhibit. Loved how interactive it was. Barely worthy of the name museum, it wastes most of its space pandering to minorities and showcases less local history than the hallway of my own home. The exhibition of a couple of dozen poorly selected photos was pathetic- you'd be better off spending 10 mins flipping through Trove online where most of these are present in higher resolution. What a waste of time and space...
