What an awesome park, the opportunities provided are quite good for a local residential park including a local market for the weekend stroll OR the casual Mordenvale group dressed in historical clothing battling it out- staged. We had the opportunity of viewing this and it was very attractive to watch. There is also children’s parks, tennis county’s, walking trails and grass paddocks to have a picnic on or what your children on the playground equipment.

We visit here when we travel on the train to Newcastle. There are BBQs, seating, shelter, play equipment and toilets close by. Last time we visited the toilets weren't very clean. Sometimes there are buskers playing instruments which we enjoy. Particularly the man who plays the bag pipes. I particularly like the big old trees. Creating ample shade for summer picnics. I hope they are left to stay and give oxygen and heat relief for many years to come.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in Newcastle. Massive old fig trees offer shade and beauty, rose gardens are always flourishing, gardens are exceptional. Play equipment is good but also fairly close to the road. There is a big old cannon that kids like to climb on. Undercover eating area near playground and toilets nearby. There is also a very big grass space that used to be a bowling green, perfect for running children and dogs :-)

This park has been part of my family history. I have a photograph that is probably 40 years old of my brothers and I sitting on the cannons at the entrance of Gregson park. I would of been under 10 years of age. Has a beautiful monolith which is used to full affect every Anzac day and with the RSL only a short distance away

There is two bowling greens at either end while i have never played I have enjoyed watching people play. One of them broadmeadow side my friends would go too before heading into the clubs. Always nice staff and the drinks were cheap.

Hamilton side is were the bbq facilities, chairs and tables. Safe bet on a public holidays and weekends it will get full in this area and people will get bas a table with one person before everyone else turns up. this is the area were the children playgrounds are. The council should be doing up this area. hopefully soon. There is plenty of lush green grace to sit talk with your friends all over the place

It also has a tennis court. havent played there for tears. so good for you as a kid or even better with own kids nieces or nephews. plenty of parking. plenty of huge trees for coverage. . not so many...

This park is easy to access and has always been pretty clean whenever we've stopped off for a quick breather after shopping. Although obviously popular on weekends, we have always been able to find parking on the kerb and somewhere to sit and eat. I knocked off a star only because some of the spaces on the north are a bit steep and can make getting in and out of the car awkward. It's like a little hideaway space to chillax for a few minutes or an hour. Even if all the picnic benches are occupied there is a special charm in eating a bit of takeaway perched on oversized tree roots, in the shade. I, for one, am glad this public space exists and will continue to swing by whenever looking for somewhere to escape during a hectic...
