Since I've already gave it a 4 stars, Let's start with "areas for improvement". I've based myself on Average Sushi Train in NSW that I've been to (instead of Japan, certainly not Tokyo), therefore not including those special Robot Train to bring you your order, neither Touch Screen Menu nor Ramen Shop with no seating. The place is decorated with Sake bottles but no Sake available to be consumed (not even beer). There's no individual Hot Water Tap on the benchtop & Japanese Tea (Green/Roasted Rice Tea) available (which I personally consider it a norm & part of the Sushi Train Experience). The Soya sauce is too salty for Sushi, Wasabi is prepackaged fake wasabi, & the pickled ginger is less than fresh & crispy ... sorry to say, which are all the norm for Sushi Train here, than otherwise. I mentioned them is becoz given as the price range of this place, they could (or should) out perform others in these areas as their competitive advantages. Despite the Hot Water Tap may be costly, the rest really cost next to nothing extra. As shown as the photo ... the clear plastic cover for the Sushi on the train are "cloudy", making it translucent if not opaque. The reasons why it should really be transparent are (1) the cover is clean; & (2) Customer could see how fresh the Sushi is, therefore encouraging them to have them (similar to butcher putting red light on meat); & (3) Customer need not to lift the plastic cover for a better view therefore better food hygiene. One star lost right here. Sad to say all the Sushi & the Eel Rice Bowl Set were average at the best. But the Seafood Udon is great. While my boss refused to have a 2nd bite after tasting all of my orders, I would swop everything at a drop of a hat for her order - the Seafood Udon. Last but not the least, since we've started late, we've not finish our dinner around 9 pm. I noticed that the waitress has started packing up the table, so I asked if they're closing down. She said yes. But instead of rushing us to finish our dinner & get out, even without me asking, she gave us some small packages of wasabi, soya sauce & pickled ginger BEFORE packing up the jars nearest to our seats (as seen on photo). The underlying message was we should finish our dinner at our own pace nonetheless. That's heartwarming.

Thank goodness for Sushi Revolution on Boxing Day!! It got us out of a pickle for lunch. I wasn’t impressed with already prepared plates stacked 3 high in the food preparation area. Maybe they were expecting to get hammered, but with the sushi plates already prepared and sitting out waiting to be added to the train it was very poor food safety and practice. Prepping that far in advance was a bit over the top. I have never seen this practice before in other sushi train restaurants. They usually prep fresh as dishes as they are eaten. Also, for the price you pay per plate, please invest in new food covers that you can actually see the food through. Some covers were ok, but some you could hardly make out what was underneath the cover. Being able to see the dish makes it more appetising to the eyes. I got sick of having to lift Perspex/plastic lids to clearly see the sushi dish on the plates. The food was tasty, but the place felt cluttered and needs a good tidy up and less hand written signs.

In comparison with other sushi restaurants I've been to in Australia and abroad (including Japan), I was disappointed with Sushi Revolution. On my visit, the range was limited (just fresh salmon and no other fresh fish like tuna or mackerel). There was a lot tinned tuna sushi on the train which I don't think is good sushi at all. The prices were also quite high in comparison with the sushi train restaurant I normally go to in Sydney (Sushi Rio on Sussex Street in Sydney). The owners should eat at Sushi Rio (I have no connection with them) to get an idea of how the could run the restaurant much better (it's not a perfect restaurant by any means but much better and cheaper). Probably the other reviewers have never eaten proper Japanese sushi and that's why the reviews are so positive.

Went in to order the Gyoza special where is was 4 steamed dumplings for $5.00. I did asked for them to be pan fried and not steamed. She said that was fine.

Ask for 8 dumplings, totalling $10. Went to pay with card and advised that there is a $20 minimum on eftpos. How do you have $20 minimum with lunch specials available. Off to the ATM I went to withdraw money.

When I returned I paid and waited.

The lady brought my Gyozas out and there were only 6. When I enquired as to why she advised that fried dumplings only come in 3pcs and not 4. When I asked why she said due to them being fried. There is no fried option on the menu only steamed that shows 4pcs. I am left to assume they made a decision to only do 3pcs.

When I asked for refund of the difference the lady was not helpful as I had ordered fried dumplings. I advised her if she had let me know that there would of been less dumplings then I would of ordered the steamed and she could of told me when I waited and not assumed I would be okay with less.

After not getting anywhere, I asked for a complete refund and would go to one of the other 2 sushi places on Beaumont street. She said I would not get a refund as I got what I ordered. In my mind 6 instead of 8 is not what I ordered.

Now to the actual Gyoza. They were deep fried not pan fried. Dry as the Sahara Dessert and so tiny it was not funny.

I won't be attending this place ever again and would advise everyone else to go anywhere else as there service was horrible. Company policies are horrible and then the product was also horrible.

If by any chance anyone wants to follow up that would be...

Edit: Issue resolved, excellent customer service.

Just want to clarify I ordered from this place off UberEats so maybe the restaurant experience is far superior.

I really wanted to like the food especially after reading all the fantastic reviews but honestly, it wasn't very good. When I have leftovers and don't even look forward to that speaks for itself.

Pricey ramen, 17$ for a small piece of chashu and single sheet of nori. I could get better deals when I was living in Melbourne for 15$: ramen with 3 huge pieces of chashu, 2 large sheets of nori, an egg and better broth (look up hakata, one of the best ramen places in Australia).

Sushi was alright, fish definitely seemed fresh but taste of sushi rice was bland. The rice didn't seem well seasoned and neither was the chicken, chicken tasted a bit like what I assume wet cardboard would taste like. They rely on the sauce piled on top for all the seasoning but when you're chewing it and get to the base ingredients they don't taste great.

Takoyaki was average. Nothing to write home about. All in all disappointing meal but at least now I know.

Wouldn't order takeout from here again though might go there and try the food and see if there's actually...
