Beautiful location BUT google will tell you that this is a quiet place to walk your dog but the signs clearly say NO DOGS (and you'll see pictures of people with their dogs in the open grass area). It is not legal to walk your dog in reserves that state No Dogs. If council were to catch you it's a huge fine. Read moreExcellent nature reserve to take the whole family. The kids loved this huge play ground and the many experiences it provides. It's absolutely beautiful to be surrounded by trees and the sounds of the birds especially the occasional laughing kookaburra. The lake has ducks. You can take a bush walk through to the other side of Blackbutt reserve to see the animals along the board walk. There are plenty of green grass for your picnic blanket or to kick a ball or catch a frisbee. Picnic tables and a few bbq and public toilets. Just remember it's a paid parking area now so will cost about $12 for a few...

My only complaint is the cost of the carpark…not really sure why there is a fee at all, but it’s pretty high for the area (higher than at Blackbutt Reserve where you get to see a lot...
