This is a wonderful public reserve that offers large, open grassy areas surrounded by beautiful bushland. A pond with plenty of wildlife (birds and fish) will keep younger kids entertained.
There is plenty of seating and tables, some of which are undercover. You can book certain sheltered areas for functions. There are plenty of BBQs with both gas and wood fired available. If you're planning on using the wood fired ones bring along some paper and matches, there is plenty of wood provided.
Everything is very well maintainted.
In the warmer months insect repellant is a must due to the mosquittos.
Car parking is available, but it's not free. You can purchase tickets from a vending machine located at the car park.

If your in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area stop in as it’s...
