Finally had the opportunity to see this beautiful home. It is right next to the showground so can be paired with a visit to Hanging Rock or Ben’s Walk. The staff are lovely and our tour guide was Nicole, she was engaging and friendly. The tour was over an hour long but it didn’t drag at all as there is so much to see in the home. I’m an architecture buff so the small details about the construction of the home were of particular interest to me. To make the most of a visit, I would recommend reading up on the history of the home prior as 4 generations can be a lot to digest, it also helped me to understand the tour better. Nicole did give us a run down of the family tree which was much appreciated and put everything in perspective. A treasure well worth visiting.

I saw this place on the map and thought this distinctive historic home was a must to visit. I was not disappointed. Finding out that the last generation from the same family had lived here during my lifetime made a big impression. The house is basically kept intact from that era - when families entertained visitors in the genteel drawing room, and the world was moving towards new machines and home equipment. The home is large, but daintily beautiful, filled with artifacts and accoutrements of its extensive heyday. The best way to see Meeroogal is on one of the tours, conducted by a knowledgeable volunteer, who also made it interesting for young children.

We had an amazing experience here. We were lead around the grounds and throughout the house by a very knowledgeable guide. We learned a lot about the history of the house and surrounding area. This is definitely worth a tour if you're in the area, or passing through town. Our tour took around 1 hour 45 mins. It can be a lot quicker depending on how many questions you ask.

Meroogal is fantastic! I went on a tour of this place today conducted by the lovely Rebecca, Rebecca's bubbliness, knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour a fun one and I learnt a lot about the house, the family who owned it and the tenants who also lived there.

The house itself was very beautiful and it was great to see the personal touches the owners put in the house over the years.

For those who are thinking about doing the tour of this place, definitely do it because it is totally worthwhile. Rebecca showed us lots of artefacts and willingly answered any...
