Silver Spoon Nowra CBD (Authentic Thai Food) — Restaurant in Nowra

The first time I went there we asked what could be made vegan. Explained we can't have fish sauce, shrimp paste etc. The woman confidently said we could have red curry. We asked her to double check.

Second time (2 weeks later) we ordered the red curry vegan. Woman said it has shrimp paste. Not vegan. I explained last time we were told it's vegan. She said sauces were made in advance. Not vegan at all.

Very disappointing because we would have ordered something else if they said the red curry was not suitable.

Seems she didn't care - just wanted to get a sale. I could imagine how bad it could be if the restriction was due to severe allergies. Like most people, just expect honesty as a minimum. We're pretty easy going and merely would have ordered something else from the menu.

Have only been there in winter and needs some heating. The food is great, they do a Pad Cha that is yummy. It is a very brightly lit place so definitely not right for the romantic evening. The staff are bright and happy but the service needs sorting. They really need a manager to control orders. On both occasions I have been there orders are mixed up as are drink orders.... Really?, several of us dining so expect all orders to arrive within a few minutes of each other but to see it spread out over 12 to 15 minutes is wrong. They have so much going for them yet but haven't got the professionalism to make everyone's night seemless. Will go again in hope they get a manager.. Summary; food good. Service; very basic. We were group of seven people who went there for a dinner . Food was amazing in fact i would say one of the best thai restaurant in that area but customer service..... specially that Aussie kid with long hair , he needs to learn some lessons. He took an order from 10 metre distance also we were just starting our dinner and he comes and says if we need any container to take food home , i mean who does that when it's just been 10 minutes and we are still eating. I used to work in a restaurant but never thought of doing it to any of my costumers . We were an hour away from the closing time .
