When I saw this family run business is supposedly “Dog Friendly” I decided to take my small gentle Dog along.

Unfortunately, my happy waggy tail little Dog was attacked by an off leash Dog that belongs to the family who run the Tram. The attack was witnessed by the family member who, after calling their Dog back, denied they owned the Dog.

I want to warn others who are travelling with their Dog to be mindful of the loose aggressive Dog as you follow the signage to the ticket office pass the Railway Shed.

The attitude of the family member and his treatment towards me as a paying Vistor to this expensive Pemberton attraction , and my dear little Dog was appalling.

No apology was made to me, nor did they enquire as to my Dog’s welfare. This local family run business is far from Dog Friendly and I don’t recommend it for that reason alone.

Aside from what happened, I thought the Tram was overly expensive and overpriced at $28 per adult (plus $4 per dog). No concessions were offered.

To use the amenities both Men and Women enter the same small building. There is a single ladies toilet which was separated by a thin wall from the men’s urinal. Both smelt dreadful and the flies were abundant.

The tram trip is described as descending deep into the forrest, it actually seemed a very short distance to me. The time on the Tram is stretched out whilst the Tram Driver stops to shut the Railway Gates to cross the Road. He then stops at the bridges to allow Visitors to look for Marron or Trout in the stream. The view is far from “breath taking” as described in the advertising. Having travelled throughout Australia on many railways, I disagree that it is one of Australia’s most majestic railway lines.

The scenery along the way, was just the same as the rest of the Pemberton area.

The cascades really are nothing extraordinary. The steep access track down to the cascades is definitely unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

The small viewing area at the bottom of the access track is quickly overcrowded as people arrive there after descending the steep access track. Visitors need to shuffle along on the loop track to make room for others as as they arrive.

The rocks at the cascades are slippery and dangerous, so if you do decide to go on this Dog Friendly Tour with or without your Dog, please take extra care if you climb onto the rocks to have your...

Over the past weekend, my wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Pemberton Tramway and what an unforgettable experience it was! I had booked for the 3:45 PM tram ride, but, being unfamiliar with the area, we decided to arrive well ahead of time to check things out and collect our tickets. From the moment we walked into the ticket office, we were warmly welcomed. The lady at the counter was absolutely marvellous — cheerful, helpful, and full of local knowledge. In a light-hearted moment, we jokingly asked if we could join the 2:00 PM ride instead. To our delight, she quickly arranged it for us, mentioning that the later tram was nearly full. Thanks to her quick thinking and kindness, we ended up on an earlier ride, and it turned out to be the best decision! This birthday outing was made even more special by our tram driver, Adam. What a character! His commentary throughout the journey was not only informative but sprinkled with great humour, I truly believe he could double as a comedian! Adam knows the area like the back of his hand, and he shared fascinating insights about the beautiful Karri and Murray trees, the history of the region, and the significance of the tramway. When we reached the Cascades, we hopped off to explore. Although the rain caught up with us, it didn’t dampen our spirits. The sight of the mini waterfalls was enchanting, I can only imagine how spectacular they must look after heavier rainfall. The tram glide across the three bridges and through the towering forests was simply magical. Pemberton itself is a charming little town, neat, welcoming, and full of character. We fell in love with it instantly. A massive thank you to the Pemberton Tramway team for a wonderful experience. You made my birthday truly special. We’ll definitely be back, next time with the...

A Ride Like No Other – The Tram Experience!

I’ve taken many forms of transportation, but nothing compares to the experience of riding the Magical Tram! From the moment I stepped aboard, I knew this wasn’t an ordinary journey. The tram shimmered with a soft glow, and as it moved, the city outside seemed to transform—streets stretched into enchanted forests, and buildings flickered into castles and floating lanterns.

The ride itself was impossibly smooth, as if we were gliding on air rather than tracks. At times, the tram even seemed to lift off the ground, giving us breathtaking views of twinkling skies and dreamy landscapes. Each stop revealed a new wonder—hidden gardens, glowing waterfalls, and whimsical creatures that waved as we passed.

The conductor, dressed in an elegant coat embroidered with constellations, greeted every passenger with a knowing smile, as if he had seen a thousand dreams come to life aboard this tram. And just when I thought the journey couldn’t get any better, the tram’s windows filled with the colors of a mesmerizing aurora, wrapping us in a soft, magical glow.

By the time we arrived back at my original stop, I wasn’t even sure if I had dreamed the whole thing. But in my pocket, I found a golden tram token—proof that magic is real if you know where to look.

If you ever get the chance, don’t hesitate. Take the ride. You’ll never see the world the...

A memorable experience that takes you back in time.. great for the kids (and us too). The Driver’s commentary was informative and entertaining. The journey was a little more than an hour with a 20min break at the “cascades” before heading back. A walk down from the platform at cascades to the stream below is a fun activity. The train takes you through dense forests and over 3 old bridges.. it gives you a glimpse of life back in the early 1900s.. the carriages are immaculate and clean. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. The ticket price might seem a bit high, but for the effort they put in and considering the maintenance of the tracks, tram, station, and overheads it’s definitely worth the experience. It’s a bit of a shame that tourism WA doesn’t do much to promote and support it.

Took my mum and I on this trip. She walks with a cane and was able to manage just fine. Sweet little tram. Pretty well kept station - reminded us a little of the Kurandah Railway Station up home (Cairns). Lovely trip through the bush. As always the trees in south west WA are awesome. Cascades super pretty - would be great to have a swim there in summer now I know where it is. Informative and cheeky commentary from Adam - the bit about the gangrene hand/peppermint trees was on video and my sister upon watching that clip lost her mind until I explained Adam's entertaining take on things :-) Absolutely recommend the experience. We would have loved a little more time up at the cascades to explore would be my only glitch in the experience.
